Bloop Picks January 2024

The first episode of our new Sound Avenue Mixed series welcomes Pedro Capelossi with a beautiful deep mix. With a career that spans just over half a decade, Pedro Capelossi has quickly emerged from Spain's avant-garde electronic music landscape. The Brazilian born, Barcelona based artist has forged a distinctive sound which focuses on inventive use of atmosphere and rhythm, drawing the lines between global dance cultures without adhering to any fixed formula. Pablo Bolivar's Seven Villas has been a primary vehicle for Pedro's far-reaching work, with additional projects via Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, The Purr and TOR highlighting his resume. Sound Avenue has also been a comfortable home for Pedro, with the Madloch and Subnode collaborations 'Turmeric Latte' and 'Vanilla Noise' marking his label debut in 2020, a project which spawned four originals and two remixes across the next two calendar years. Early 2023 his beautiful EP entitled 'Salted Caramel' got released on the label.

👁→@young-drums Project created by a pair of engineers who love music, design and arts in all its expressions. Young Drums were born in 2009 in their hometown Salamanca, Guanajuato.

Over the years they have been tuning their performance, without sticking to any particular genre and always looking for new sounds. They have participated in gigs all around Mexico and elsewhere in the world. 

Sunday Sunday residents and founders of UFOCAMP, currently command the Haunted Space label, along with Cani of Zombies In Miami. 

They have an active participation in Radio Bar (Irapuato), with their monthly residency Modern Speech, which is also radio program in Sutro FM (SAN FRANCISCO).

DJ since "the beginning" in the late 80’s, Loloman was among the pioneers of raves in the south of France. He has always been worn by electronic music. His musical influences came from the 70-80’s german scene, but also from Chicago house and Detroit techno. He was a radio show host from the age of 15. In 1991 at Number One (Cap d'Agde), because of the replacement of a certain Jack de Marseille, Loloman began his professional career as a DJ. He then went on to numerous events with the Glück Family and Highlanders tribes, where he mixed with Laurent Garnier, Jack, Stephanovitch, JRob, DJ Armand, Derrick May, Francesco Farfa or Jérôme Pacman, to name just some of them… He worked at the same time in the Music Factory vinyl store in Béziers (an interesting spot to meet producers). He was olso the co-organizer of the famous "𝘗𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘵 𝘔𝘪𝘹 𝘌𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘦 𝘈𝘮𝘪𝘴". Since 2018, Loloman focuses more on the production of tracks but still keeps a hand on the decks, his first passion. After Nocturbulous Techno City and Slate Records, he produced for Brique Rouge (the legendary label of David Duriez) : his “R-evolution EP” contains fantastic tracks including “As One”, already a classic played by such DJ’s. Then he produced a remix for Naeba Records (the label of Trecci), four tracks for Ibiza Boys and the beautiful “Melancolia” for COD3 QR (the new label of Scan X and Laurent Garnier). Recently he signed on MB Elektronics, the label of the legendary DJ-producer Marco Bailey ! His tracks are regularly played on the turntables of major European clubs as the De Marktkantine in Amsterdam, Elrow in Barcelona, La Fabrique in London, Le Rex Club in Paris and importants festivals like the Nuits Sonores in Lyon. After 30 years of career, Loloman is today a very respected artist of the french underground techno scene.
