From her earliest days, Monile was drawn to electronic music through her older brother; a House, 90’s dance and techno record collector. Her roots originate from a combination of classic music she used to express playing piano, 90’s hip hop, Soul with a touch of funk and disco. On her quest for growth, she is always exploring different genres.
Her music reflects a rhythmic compassion for deep grooves and enchanting bass lines all-encompassing a wide range of electronic music styles from old School acid and Ghetto house to Detroit techno and Electro..

With her broad musical background, her productions and dj-sets incorporate the deep and dub-influenced sound she loves, whilst retaining the driving funk of her musical past. Her love for music is an endless journey to share with the world. Here, we present a recent mix of hers from Sophie Festival in Spain. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Having now over 2 decades in the game, legend is a perfect description for Mr. G aka Colin McBean. His vast contribution to dance music is the example of a real artist and his unique vibe has carved the memories of ravers throughout the years.

Initially in the 90s, Mr. G was part of different aliases producing revolutionary music and touring the decks around the world with astyle of techno before starting his career on his own. By the end of the decade, Colin foundates his label Pheonix G pioneering a brand of eltronic tech-funk that rapidly attracted attention.

His exceptional talent and innovation quickly released on acclaimed labels like Defected, Duty Free and more, while also remixing and collaborating with world-class artists from the underground. In the following years, Mr. G consolidates as an idol of the industry and releases some of his most marvellous music under the Rekids label, receiving praise by the top critics.

In the present, Mr. G continues with a fierce passion for music, making people dance around the world with energetic performances and a share of love that no other DJtransmits. Few artists have been able to fill people's heart like Mr. G has done through his career.

In today’s episode, we are joined by the Brisbane-based artist and @microminimalrecords co-founder - Meaney.  

From the stage to the studio, all of RJ’s musical endeavours draw from his twenty-two years of study in the field of music, culminating in his graduation from London’s prestigious Abbey Road Institute.

Today’s podcast showcases RJ’s protean approach to music - melding the sonic palettes of acid, electro, garage, jazz and of course - minimal house. It includes tracks from his latest album - out now on PhonicHouse1, unreleased tunes from his (soon-to-be released) album “1994”, unreleased edits, and some of his favourite tracks from microminimal records’ back catalog.

“After playing at The Cause’s closing party at the start of 2022, I took a step back from DJing to wrap up my studies, hone my audio engineering and develop a series of live hardware performances that I have since showcased at the likes of The Lion & Lamb and Boat Live. 

DJing largely took a back-seat until July of last year, when my passion for it was rekindled during the microminimal 4th birthday celebrations. I was lucky enough to play an extended b2b2b2b in Toronto alongside my dear friends - J.P Knowz, Drägun and Oolong. 

This mix draws from the happy memories at both of these gigs, as well as sharing some of my live tracks from 2022-2023 which I have now mixed to studio format. 

A big shout out to Dragutesku for the mastering on my tracks, the microminimal crew, my brother in Ukraine - Jordee, Heerz, Cuquex & Heimyl for the wicked remixes, the featured artists from our “Love For Ukraine” release - Alex Font, Archie Hamilton, Cooke, Noha, S.A.M, Subb-An, all the other artists whose music I’ve played & Quivr for the hospitality when recording the mix.

Moving the Scandinavian scene on a glacial level, few have had the level of input into the musical landscape than this next level digger. ABOUT Katharine:
Katharine has been influencing dance floors playing sideways house in Australia since 2000, and now makes mixes for collectives around the world who appreciate her take on minimal. She has a unique way, intuitively selecting & slipping between the sublime & mysterious, raw street sounds and twisted funk with the occasional injection of a classy house bounce.  She smoothly threads her sessions together with a strangely satisfying & homogeneous groove.  Katharine runs her label and party series Motion:Theory:Music with Ben Abrahams and Jules David - renowned influencers of the East Coast underground.

Whether playing vinyl before it was a big deal, CD's or her USB's, she selects just the right track for the moment, often bringing a thought provoking piece to dancers unfamiliar with experiencing such depths on the dance floor. She has made twenty mixes this year alone for minimal appreciating labels, each one telling a different story from the last.  It's all about vibration:appreciation.
