We're very pleased to announce that our latest podcast comes from Berlin based Irishman, Chymera. He started to produce back in 2002 and since then has managed to turn into quite the versatile producer. His tracks often fit comfortably between house and techno, and these can range from deeper cuts to epic, big room tracks. 

He has released on countless labels, such as Kompakt, Ovum, Connaisseur, Cocoon, and Delsin. He plays both Live and DJs across the globe in some of the world's top clubs. As a DJ, his selection is always on key and this mix advertises this quality admirably.

Growing up in Cali (Colombia) Angaro developed a passion for collecting and sharing music, with salsa being a strong influence from an early age. After relocating to Berlin in 2001, Angaro has been deeply involved in the city's renowned club and festival culture, absorbing its diverse musical trends. As a key figure in the founding of Nie Wieder Schlafen, Angaro plays a crucial role in orchestrating and managing the brand's various events.

As a refined selector, Angaro enriches parties with his energetic sets that encompass a range of deep, afro, and tech-house beats. His natural aptitude for reading the audience enables him to craft dynamic performances that guide the crowd through a myriad of groovy, melodious peaks. He has performed at well-known clubs in Berlin such as Burg Schnabel, Anita Berber, KitKat, Mensch Meier, Alte Münze, and The Yard, as well as in clubs in cities like Lausanne, Tübingen, Medellín, Cali, and Cartagena. Additionally, he has showcased his talents at events like CSD Berlin, Garbicz, and Burning Man.

Angaro enjoys the opportunity to play extended sets and after hour parties, where he can explore eclectic mixes that span various electronic music genres, including latin-tech, indie-dance, house, disco, and melodic techno.

-Interview-

1.このミックスはどちらで収録したものですか? 

このミックスは僕がレジデントDJをしているドイツ・ケルンのGewoelbeというクラブで録音したよ。僕はここでいつもミックスを録音している。自分の家のように感じられる特別な場所なんだ。ここのDJブースやサウンドシステム、クラブの全てに愛着があるんだ。今回はコロナブレイクの前に最後のDJセットだったので非常に特別でした。私はクラブが混雑した夜やすべての思い出が頭を巡り、収録時は孤独だったので将来についてかなり心配になったのも事実だよ。

2.コンセプトがあれば教えてください。

ポッドキャストをやる時はいつも新譜にフォーカスして制作している。新しい音楽をリスナーに届けたいんだ。通常クラブでプレイする時と同じように、まずトラックをじっくりセレクトして、チャプターごとにストリーを組み立てていった。今回は約90分の作品。

3.最近の活動を教えてください。

ドイツのレーベルKOMPAKTから5曲入りの「KANTE EP」をちょうどリリースした。多方面からフィードバックをもらえて非常に満足している。
今年はリリースの予定が結構決まっていたんだけれども、世情もあるし、どうなるか分からなくなってしまったね。それでも世界が力を合わせて、この危機的な状況を打破できるよう願っている。それぞれの人生について改めて考えるきっかけだと考えている。
