Dirty Grooves 024 - October Show - Saturo Sounds Radio

The 12th episode in our Sound Avenue Mixed series welcomes Pedro Sanmartin. Born in Barcelona but currently calling Norway home, the Spanish artist has carved out a unique place in the electronic underground. His haunting atmospheric storyboards, exotic percussive arrangements and deep immersive grooves have proved to be club-effective, earning the praise of Hernan Cattaneo, Pablo Bolivar and more. Emerging just over a decade ago, Pedro has taken his far-reaching sound to well-established imprints in Loot Recordings, Tenampa, Univack and Seven Villas, the latter of which has operated as his primary home. Sound Avenue has also been a landing spot for Pedro, with a well-received debut coming in 2019 with a contribution to the label's popular Correlation series, a release which would spearhead a second appearance on the series earlier this year. Now, following his latest vehicle for DP-6 Records, Pedro continues on an upwards trajectory as he returns to Sound Avenue for his first EP project entitled ‘Immersive Experience'.

We welcome Cosmin Stroe a.k.a Emotional Tourist, for the sixty-sixth edition of the 'Deep In Mix' series. Hailing from Bucharest, Romania, his home and the muse for his musical journey, Cosmin's profound connection with music dates back to his earliest memories, sparking a passion that eventually led him into the heart of the electronic music scene.

In 2015, he took his first steps into music production. What began as a quest to define specific genres in his sets evolved into a mission to evoke diverse feelings and emotions through electronic music. Since then, Emotional Tourist has been on a quest to communicate sentiments through his beats. Under the alias Andrew Case, he marked his entry into the electronic music scene in 2016, garnering attention with releases on Sudbeat, Manual Music, and Sound Avenue. The evolution into the Emotional Tourist project in 2018 saw him release tracks on Shanti Moscow Radio and make waves with a standout EP on Kindisch in 2020, showcasing his gift for deep and melodic compositions.

Having graced the stages of major festivals in Romania, including Electric Castle, Untold Festival, and Neversea Festival, Emotional Tourist has shared the limelight with the biggest names in the industry. His sonic explorations have reverberated in renowned clubs such as Akasha (Ibiza), and Bar Feijoa (Amsterdam) to name a few. Influenced by the sounds of Guy J, Emotional Tourist views every DJ and producer who respects the music and the messages they convey as a role model. He has released on prominent labels like When We Dip XYZ, Kindisch, Stellar Fountain, and The Young Proprietor to name a few. His compositions capture the spectrum of emotions, from the joy of a first kiss to the poignant beauty of a sunrise after a night of anticipation. In 2022, he launched his own label 'Mixed Feelings' - a platform to harness the tones that have spread wide over the last few years.

For the twenty-fourth Moonlight Mixtape, we’re wishing a happy birthday to Resident Pinkowitz, who’s celebrating the occasion with a cinematic journey through his original productions. He’s had an incredible year, with 2023 bringing releases on organic house mainstays @amulangamusic, @3rdavenuelabel, @thepurrmusic, @daydreamers_soundavenue, @beadultmusic, and @anokamusiclabel. This week’s mix includes some of his favorite 2023 releases (we’re looking at you, “Cabernet Sky” EP), some brand-new tunes (“Growth in the Dark”), and a few unreleased delights. Pinkowitz sets the scene with an ethereal opening that evokes a sense of calm and contemplation before layering heat and rhythm into a masterful build and an emotive, high-energy finish.
