I have been drawn to music all my life, although my parents, both musicians, didn’t approve of it when I was a child, because they were afraid it would not bring me material success. For me, music is a light that I want to strive for. I am inspired by the music of other musicians, and create my music based on what I listen to, and hopefully inspire someone else as well. When I play in clubs and people like it there is an exchange of energy happening, my soul is alive at that moment and it’s like a path to something light. It’s spiritual growth in a way and that’s what you want to strive for. It’s a difficult time. Because of the war me and my family had to go abroad, our city was occupied in the first days of the war. Vek Neirbo is the unruly alter-ego moniker of longtime U.S. based DJ and producer, Kev Obrien. 

Recently relocated in the Mile High City of Denver, Vek's musical focus is honed in on tripped-out, hypnotic minimal, tech house, and breakbeat -- best served after 4am, when the party is at its freakiest.  

This particular set was recorded at a private afterhours in Denver, Colorado during the early morning hours. 

In the daylight hours, he works full time as a Label Manager for underground labels such as Superlux Records, Eyedyllic Music, Moteur Ville Musique, and others -- collectively releasing music from artists such as Akufen, Delano Smith, Jay Tripwire, Mike Shannon, Robert James, Subb-An, Voigtmann, and many others.

Deeply inspired by their style of mixing and production, Carlos has since established his own unique form of expression for his listeners, characterized by sweet sounds that range from vivid housey basslines to jazz melodies.
