Bloop is fast becoming a bit of a ‘name’ amongst those in the know for quality output across the house spectrum so it’s no surprise to see Net28, Esperanza and Lomidhigh rising star Kasper on the imprint with his “Chicago Take” 12”.
 
If you’ve checked the Spaniard’s recent contributions to Wolf & Lamb or Net28, you’ll be aware of his funk laced house wigglers which combine old and new wonderfully and ‘Chicago Take’ is no different.
 
Evocative of the golden age of uncomplicated house, ‘Chicago Take’ fuses basic 909 drums with a filtered funk bass line, resulting in a simple yet effective dancefloor bomb which fits the Bloop remit nicely.
 
The incredibly consistent Lauhaus of Remote Area and Soweso delivers a remix which, while similarly stripped back, is a little more melodic and low slung. Call and answer stabs, licks and vocal effects all create memorable hooks so the track lingers in the mind.
 
Finally, the aptly titled ‘Just a House Groove’ provides some bass heavy, spoken vocal sampling, New York styled house which is as deep as it is pounding.
 
Kasper’s ‘Chicago Take’ is released on Bloop in September 2009.

Hot on the heels of his recent groundbreaking Fabric 64 compilation, Supplement Facts bossman Guy Gerber is now ready to get "Steady" with a brand new EP and worldwide tour.

Acclaimed photographer Martin Zalba Ibáñez has been tapped to provide a new series of B&W photos for the iconic Supplement Facts covers. The first one can be seen on Gerber's first release on his own Supplement Facts label in almost two years, which sees him pairing with dOP frontman Jaw for 'Steady,' a melodic track filled with soaring synth lines, Guy's emotional bass guitar chords, and Jaw's incredibly performance featuring his trademark eerie, distorted vocals.

Rounding out the release is a beefed up Midland remix of Steady - perfect for peak time dance floor destroying. The vinyl B- side is a re-edit of the Golden Sun & the Silver Moon, a dreamy standout track off of the Fabric compilation (and Guy's alternate name for the Fabric mix itself) featuring vocals by Clarion North of Footprintz (look for their upcoming album on Visionquest soon).

After Huerco S's lo-fi house and a classic cut from Parris Mitchell, we are happy to present our third physical release. That Girl, produced by our recent discovery Innershades, and halved with two remixes of our most recent idols. While the EP received massive dj support, it may sound so familiar for another reason: again, it further explores the territories of modern house music while paying obvious homage to the past. 

At a first glance, you might mistake That Girl for some unfinished business. Opening with a repeated voice sample, rare toms and a nostalgic pad, this epic beatless intro builds up like a 1980's spaghetti western soundtrack just to drop one minute later into one of the rawest hard hitting house tracks you'll see around in a while. But don't be too quick to make judgments: the abundance of sonic elements in this tune sounds very refreshing in the era of looped house and techno — and those ruthless ravey keys add up oh so well to the picture.

Further down the road, Hotflush Recording's favorite Locked Groove gives the original a pulsing acidic twist halved with his signature top-class house production skills. This unobvious deviation from the trancey samples you would hear on his latest releases is, though, very welcome: a slightly misogynistically titled "She's A Hoe" remix just sticks in your head for a while.

As if that isn't enough, the B-side is represented by a simple-yet-effective remix from Ukraine's very own Vakula who provides what seems a purist power techno edit right up to the point when the killer snare comes in. What follows is a little flanger play on one of the original's secondary melodies which emphasizes it, thus changing the perception of the cut almost completely. Strictly for club use only.
