Mastercris - You're The One (feat. Kathy Diamond) , original, dub & Mathias Vogts remixes

Growing further out, musical petals reaching out for the ethereal, aiming high! That's where Blossom is going, and the next release in glorious vinyl is another firm step towards the establishment of the label. 

This time it's portuguese veteran Mastercris delivering the goods, featuring a killer vocal contribution by the even sensual Kathy Diamond, one of Maurice Fulton's partners in crime. Cristovão Mestre is the real name of the man hiding behind the anagram Mastercris. Mestre is a rare case: a real music lover with no aspirations of dj'ing and no necessity of self-affirmation, a full time medical doctor who happens to have a love and act for music making. After works on many reference labels, this piece - "You're the one", has everything needed to be a grand crossover success: catchy lyrics, sharp production, a tight modern boogie midtempo flavor and a couple of kick ass dub versions and remixes to satisfy all manner of tastes.

The original is a piano-led composition that's brilliantly written, with an orchestral atmosphere and an irresistibly feminine appeal that will leave many a hot ladies drenched in ecstasy, held in rapture, immersed in Miss Diamond's ravishing lyrics and vocal arrangements. Perfect track to listen on the radio, in the subway on the way home with your headphones on, or to get the dancefloor rocking' on a beautiful club. The production is top notch too. The composer's dub version is no less impressive: a real club tool for the arpeggio lover, a deep and passionate upbeat take that aims dead center at those who appreciate all things Morgan Geist. 

As for the anticipated Vogt remixes… there comes heat! Matthias Vogt keeps BPMs on the midtempo and works a crunchy beat into hypnotic results… snappy, organic and slow on the build. The vocal remix drives the lyrics to the forefront of the mix, but keeps everything else super simple but in an incredibly effective manner, making room for a Prince-esque guitar that advances boldly onto the arrangement and creates a sure fire future classic, the new piano arrangements also work wonders. Finally, Vogt's dub version gives the vocal version the edge it needed, removing most of the lyric content and adding beautiful electric piano and synth where only the vocal lay, and looping a distorted, filtered guitar portion to a tantric effect - it's as deep a dub version as they get. Absolutely addictive bliss!

Hey there! Here we are again, after Cristian Manolo’s digital heat in “Phantom” and Mastercris’s still hot in the box “You’re the One”, we have come bearing good tidings: another first on Blossom Kollektiv, It is with great pleasure we announce belgian producer and disc jockey Berten De Beukelaer as our most recent collaborator, under his Metrobox alias. Here is “Pagans & Poets”, the second wax pressing of Blossom Kollektiv.
Metrobox is co host of the legendary Home parties in Belgium and part of the Fellowship of The Funk collective, collaborator and artist of We Play House and a few others note worthy accolades, such as being a great dj, guitar player, drummer, percussionist, singer, keyboardist... you name it.
How to first talk about this release?... We’ll start by saying that It’s a bold move, these days, to craft music that does not aim at technical prowess but rather a direct emotional experience. Since gimmicks and sleight of hand are often made for the shallow exercise of studio trickery skills, score and song writing are an art to be treasured and appreciated now more than ever. It feels special, to appreciate pure, sincere music that feels unpretentious, simple and honest...
“Pagans & Poets” is a collection of four works that brings us back to a time when discreet, intimate minimalistic club grooves where a norm. A time when the likes of Losoul, Swayzak, Herbert, Freaks, Isolée and other such artists released a steady flow of bleak, transparent music that took dancers into a journey within themselves.
The EP starts with “Liefje”, an askew take of deeply funky club house that has a touch of indie pop to it. It’s a cross between severe analogue dirt, a poetic, mind bending lyrical content, and a piercing rhythm section... a song that is perfect for late hours and open minds, dramatically interpreted by Metrobox himself.
Next is “Gishora”, the soul quencher mid tempo deep chunk of warmth on the EP. It’s a swinged out sharp beat that lies against sweeping glassy pads and a round juno bass bobbing up and down, as a beautiful Serengeti inspired sample reaches back onto the furthest recesses of our minds. An element appealing to a unity we often have a hard time reconnecting with... Perfect for when we find ourselves lost and delivered, alone with eyes closed, dancing to such a track at late hours on a floor bombarded by a gigantic sound system, while surrounded by friends and smiles.
“See The Day” is the first on the other side. A crispy four to the floor pattern gets decorated with microphone captured hand claps and finger snaps... elements that inhabit a world of melody and contemplation. Though the lead is simple, innocent and almost naive, the result of the composition is intense and transcendent. There are no secrets and nothing is pretentious about this track, it’s almost dangerously straight forward, and once you fall into it, you’ll never want out.
Finally, the EP closes with “Let Me Be”, another song with a pronounced pop appeal. It’s a downtempo number that finds singer Assia whispering a duet with the author, against a laid back hip hop beat, ridden with electric piano chords and Timbaland style shakers. The perfect end to the EP, leaving you to whistle and hum for the rest of the day.

After his critically acclaimed remix of Afraire’s “1995” for Blossom Kollektiv, Felkon returns with a full-length vinyl only EP for the label. The Dresden born artist originally coming from Punk Rock roots is back to show the world that he is here to stay with his lush melodies and haunting beats.

Sunset Stories take us on a special journey through beautiful soundscapes that is sure to keep the heat high throughout summer and into fall. The three-track EP with a remix from Blossom Kollketiv’s Jepe is bound to end up in DJs record bags for many months to come.

We start our adventure with the title track “Sunset Stories” where the artist chooses to use another interpretation of his vision instead of the original. Multifaceted percussion starts us out until the whimsical melody kicks in reminding the dance floor to move in a state of ecstasy. The track continues to take us further down the rabbit hole until a dark bassline kicks in to round out the track nicely. 

Next comes Jepe’s version of “Sunset Stories” unlike Felkon’s skanky mix of the track Jepe goes for a more straightforward House approach with a pumping kick, a slamming snare, and a groovy bassline. Then he cleverly uses some pieces of the melody and the original roaring bassline to bring a new life to the track. This version should be labeled as a floor filler because once all the elements come together the crowd will have no other choice but to move.

On the B-side of the record we get two more tracks from Felkon that show off his excellent use of moody melodic structures. “Under Pressure” quickly shows off his masterful skills, as almost immediately we are taken to a far off land where beautiful soundscapes quickly makes us drift away like we are floating in between space and time. 

Our last stop brings us to “Trippin” a more chilled out vibe that is the perfect finishing touch after our experience through many alluring distant lands. Slowly it brings us back to reality from our trip and reminds us that we always need to take the time to recollect ourselves after our exploration through sound.

Blossom Kollektiv returns to vinyl once again after the success of Jepe’s “Spring Shadow,” this time around inviting House and Techno veteran Matthias Vogt to the label. The two-track EP of finely crafted melodic and emotive Techno features remixes from Oliver Gehrmann and Jepe and is sure to find its way into DJ bags world wide.

Starting the EP off on a strong note with Solace, Matthias Vogt takes us on a magical journey like we’re floating in the clouds with a driving kick and lush melodies that keep us soaring through the sky into a land of beautiful and lovely emotions. Then just when we feel like we’re about to fall the track uplifts us once again into a place of cosmic bliss with rich piano notes full of substance.

Playing with the rich piano notes of the original Oliver Gehrmann creates his own vision of Solace bringing a deeper and more after hours feel. The track takes us through the elements of the original but reworking it ever so slightly while never losing the strong emotional sense of the original. 

Next we come back to Matthias with Fluorescence where we once again are whisked of to a fascinating place full of melody and care free attitudes. However don’t let this allure fool you, powered by a heavy kick drum and tight percussion this track will work wonders on any peak hour dance floor bringing a sense of euphoria to the crowd. 

After returning from our blissful land Jepe brings us right to the floor with his straightforward house version of Fluorescence. Putting his stamp all over his version using classic piano stabs and funky percussion to make the track uplifting in a rhythmic way, then subtle synths from the original peek their heads out to create a little drama and suspense until the slamming kick drum kicks back in making the crowd move.

Next up from Blossom Kollektiv we present a two track digital only release of newcomer Leo Wölfel. The young Innsbruck based producer might be the new kid on the block but his production skills are already top notch. Releasing his first EP last October on Let’s Play House, he now presents his latest EP titled “Into The Mild.”

Starting things with Into the Mild he takes the listener directly on a tour of house with a solid kick and lush pads that move through the speakers like floating on air. Then a deep bassline and lush synths move us through our land of imagination and takes us to a place that is unlike any we’ve seen before with ease and class.

After returning from our beautiful exploration of our last adventure we softly land into Fallser Flurry. Keeping the same deep mentality from before we are now whisked off to a new happy land with feel good piano stabs and jumping percussion that adds another dimension to the sound and keeps it all moving forward while taking the listener off into the far reaches of space.

Blossom Kollektiv is back with a brand new vinyl only release that is ready to shake up dance floors with its deep and moody vibes. This time around a pairing of two minds have provided the musical paint for the canvas. Polish based producer Tanzlife has teamed up with ID Ensemble to deliver a package of finely tuned house music that is destined to end in DJ bags and vinyl enthusiast’s hands across the globe. 

Getting things started with ‘Hiperbola’ we are sent straight to the dance floor with a thumping kick, classic house pads and a slamming snare that is sure to impel dancers to put their hands in the air and lose themselves in the music.  Followed by ‘Moss’ the pair present something a little more playful than the first cut.  Taking us through a deep tripped out adventure we float through a strange new world with complex beat patterns, percussion and lush melancholic synths that take us to our esoteric playground.

Finally to wrap things up we land effortless into ‘Parabola’ that lifts us up right away with a solid kick and feel good synth stabs that reminds us of the joy that this music can bring.  Then the percussion builds until the end when a slight vox sample kicks in to give the track an extra boost and create an extra layer to our already jubilant experience.

Blossom Kollektiv returns again with a new vinyl release that showcases the labels organic growth from passionate beginnings to a name that is established in the minds and hearts of many. Label co-founder Jepe has put together a very exceptional release that is sure to warm the hearts of Blossom fans around the world. The EP features one track from Jepe with remixes from Iron Curtis, Patrick Zigon, Joel Alter, and label mate Leo Wölfel. 

The title track “Amaebi” immediately whisks us off to a beautiful land with commanding drums, lush pads and graceful synth stabs. Paired together with moving percussion the piece is carefully crafted for moments on the dance floor that will be the highlight of the night for anyone looking for a deep moment to lose themselves in.

Moving on to Patrick Zigon’s interpretation he presents a more playful version while never losing the core deepness of the original and taking it even deeper. Playing heavily with dubby pads and abstract synths he completely transforms Jepe’s original into something fresh that will work flawlessly in many moments in the night. 

Turning the disk over we reach the B-side remixes. The first remix from Iron Curtis showcases a solid deep house vibe. Keeping the pad from the original but toying with the elements and adding a funky bassline he revamps the original into a different vibe that it’s beautiful and moving all at the same time. 

Continuing on with our deep exploration of “Amaebi” we come to Joel Alter’s interpretation. His version provides a reconstruction of the original with a soft rumbling bassline and subtle acid synth stabs that take the listener to a place they have yet to travel on this musical exploration. 

Finally finishing things off is label mate Leo Wölfel’s solid floor filling version of Jepe’s original. This version is intended to take you straight to the dance floor with its more upbeat approach but without loosing the elements of the original that took you to a magical place to begin with.

After a short hiatus, Blossom Kollektiv returns with a brand new limited edition vinyl release. This time around industry veteran, Matthias Vogt, presents his Voyeur EP. No stranger to the label, his latest features three deep and melodic cuts with one remix of the title track from Tanzlife v Id Ensemble.
Starting things out with “Voyeur,” we move into beautiful soundscapes that truly tell a story though its lush melodies, while still packing enough punch to get the crowd going in the right moments of a set. Followed by Tanzlife v Id Ensemble’s interpretation, they bring a more traditional deep house version replacing the lush melodies with more club ready synth stabs and pads while reworking the composition for the peak moments in the club.
Now flipping over to the B-side we start with “Rubin” a track full of sunny time vibes. This is the type of track that you’d love to play during the cold and dark months to bring a little temporary sunshine without it actually being sunny. Rich deep pads are paired here with uplifting synths and a classic deep house arrangement to bring bright vibes anytime of the year.
Finally finishing things off with “ The Comeback,” we get something a little different with its tribal percussion and once again feel good vibes but the standout here is Mathias’s display as a classically trained pianist, which he displays wonderfully throughout the track. One thing that is clear through his years of music composing experience in electronic music and beyond is you can expect finely crafted works of art that work both on the dance floor and as tools to spark your imagination.

@matthias-vogt delivers this vibrant mix for BLK in which he's taking us for a ride through different eras and genres of House and Techno. He manages to maintain a really nice narrative while playing with a broad range of moods to keep the listener entertained. Stringing together such a broad set of tunes is never an easy task, but this mix just has quality written all over it - even throwing in a chunk of humor doesn't get left out! Definitely got us in a dancing mood!

Always keeping a forward-thinking attitude, we’ve rebranded ourselves to take us to the next wave as an imprint through exploring different sonic soundscapes, from electronica to techno and everything in between. Continuing to hold ourselves to the highest standard possible, we will passionately curate the same high quality that we are known for but with a current focus on modern and captivating releases. 

Focusing on showcasing the next generation of talent, we strive to not only share their music with the world but to develop their identity as an artist.  One certain thing is the sense of extended family that will carry through release after release, as we help to path the way for their careers but also to give them a medium where they can feel free to experiment and stay true to themselves. This new eclectic output will relieve the pressures of many purist ideas of the past and give the room to focus on what is the most important to make great music that electronic music lovers can listen to or dance to. 


Blossom kollektiv is proud to present a fresh new release to continue showcasing the eclectic new direction of the imprint's musical identity. This time inviting Germany-born, Austria-based DJ and producer Conntex, for a proper techno EP titled “Sonic Seduction”. The four-track voyage takes the listener on a journey through many distinct but solid representations of the techno sound.

 

To get things started the release kicks off with “Serenity” a deep and dubby techno wonderland with pulsating beats, moving percussion and classic dub stabs that weave together seamlessly to create a firm foundation for the rest of the release. Transitioning into the next piece “Feeling of sublime” we are transported directly to the front of the dance floor with this straight techno groover. A punchy kick paired with otherworldly synths and funky percussion keeps the energy up, which is bound to keep the listener moving as if in a psychedelic trance within a strange new place.

 

Moving along to “Liminal” another deep techno-utopia catches our ears with a pumping kick drum that is paired with precisely placed percussion that keeps the groove moving with brute force. This paired with the occasional and clever use of minimalistic vocals is perfectly placed within the arrangement that keeps things shifting until the true surprise of the track comes at the breakdown. The brilliant use of the beeping of a heart monitor within the composition effortlessly bridges the gap between breakdown and the final arrangement of the track.

 

Wrapping up the release with the title track “Sonic Seduction”, Conttex delivers one more fresh flavor of techno. A sinister bassline paired with seductive and well-placed vox sets the mood for the track until the kick and tribal percussion comes into play establishing a strong infrastructure. The groove continues to build until the surprise dubby synths come to play at the end of the arrangement tying everything together cohesively and returning to the vibe created from the very beginning of the release.

 

To complete the package the EP comes paired with four stellar remixes to take the listener even further into the abyss of sonic auditory delights with remixes by Rydim, ALPI, D_Roots, and Egotot. Each remix presents an eclectic flavor of electronic soundscapes that perfectly round out the release, from deep techno and broken beat to slow experimental shamanic drum sequences that propel the release into an exciting new direction while keeping the spirit of the original EP.
