A small (40:15 min), tranquil, unspectacular and therefore insignificant Album one might think. Far from it. Several other Neofolk bards could take a leaf out of his book, considering the vocal and musical talent by Norwegian Erik Evju. A One-man project, released on the Dutch 'Soulseller' Metal label. Since the protagonist stems from the metal genre, it seems obvious to have chosen it, on the other hand he will find it hard to compete with the recorded Dark Folk/Neofolk. Incompatible with those 'metal heads' for sure. 

To my taste the best tracks on the album are: "Every Leaf And Branch Will Tremble", "I Let The Night Cover Me" and "Long Days Of Winter". Erik accentuates his acoustic guitar play only very slightly by keyboard, piano or violin, he abstains from percussions, what seems correct when listening to his sound. The vocal tracks are multiplied in the editing process, so the CD never becomes dreary. 'Less is more', what rarely is true, 'cos here the real top-notcher shows off. Every mishap is unforgiving, while playing this pure sound. But he is absolutely flawless. As mentioned above, he leaves some other genre colleagues in the dust by "Folkloren". His warm intimate voice carries it entirely. The 11 years of artistic experience are felt instantaneously.

Like on the last album "En Natt Kom Doed", Norwegian and English lyrics are alternating. The whole material sounds very pleasant, but at no point arbitrary.
After a double compilation in 2010, where early recordings are gathered, this is the third album to date. I hope many other subtle works will follow suit.

Viking music meet elettronic music, in a really experimental soundscape! 

The project started in January 2017 finally takes shape, born from the idea of combining the sonority of electro music such as downtempo, bass music and drum & bass with archaic sounds typical of the Blòt Heathen. 

The project is "only", so it will not have, in our opinion, a continuity with other similar releases, but will release "classic" relics in the ritual / Viking style of the Blòt Heathen. 

So old fans, do not be discouraged!

Nebala means primordial mist in the earliest Nordic language, interpreted as the abyss of absolute potentiality. It is the name of the music project envisioned by singer and songwriter Jonas Lorentzen. Grounded within an interdisciplinary framework, Jonas Lorentzen has teamed up with philosopher Naina Gupta and Old Norse expert Mathias Nordvig to explore the deep Indo-Germanic connections between Nordic and Vedic culture. In collaboration with the neo-classical and electronic composer Sebastian Gainsborough from the Bristol music scene, using traditional frame drums, lyre, tagelharpa, Tibetan singing bowls, and throat singing, Jonas Lorentzen has developed a unique Indo-Nordic sound for Nebala that toys with timescapes, soundscapes, and cultural boundaries to bring you back to the primordial experience of music itself.

All the songs are based on Old Norse mythology and runic inscriptions from Scandinavia. They are written in the now extinct proto-Nordic language that existed in the Germanic Iron Age, long before the Viking Age. The songs are informed by an original sexual theory proposed by Naina Gupta and symbolic mythological interpretations by Mathias Nordvig, exploring ancient sex and sexuality and creativity in Nordic culture; as in Old Norse mythology, poetry and song come from sexual creativity.

Wardruna's Solringen, I LOVE THIS SONG! I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! 
I vocalized only the first part a while ago.. but I was inspired. All rights ofcourse go to Wardruna, if you like them buy everything they have! :D

Parts of the song are mixed with the original song because I'm simply horrible with percussion and I think it sounds pretty cool. :3

I played the drones and the dreamy spacey sounds are also done by me working happily and crazy on the Tyros 4 (on which I play rarely), all the vocals are done by me and all in all this was just an amazing piece to work on..

I will probably try to make it even more awesome because there's still a lot I want to work on but so far I'm fucking happy okay.

:Alu - Ula: This is the first rough mastered demo version of the the INTRO song that will start this whole album off.
I am hoping that the rest of the recordings will achieve this quality when complete  which I feel is better and enriched by the fact that now all the drums are real and all midi beats have been recorded over making a vast difference!

Blòt - which takes its name from pagan sacrifice that was made by the peoples of Northern Europe to the Scandinavian Gods - It's a musical project founded by two italian multi instrumentalist, Orlando Li Mandri (Elettronic, Strings, Percussion, Voice) and Leonardo Sorrentino(Didgeridoo, Strings, Sing)who try to create experimental soundscapes.

For this project, which combines electronic music and native musical instruments, such as percussion in bone, wood, shells, body instruments as voices and throat singing, but also tools such as frame drums and didgeridoo, to try to create an epic ambience, dark, penetrating, a sounds from the northen european iron age and viking period.

The word "Blòt" is derived from "bless" and comes from the word "blood", an important component in the rituals.
