It’s been awhile since Bludclot Recordings broke you off some of that sonic goodness. To usher in a new era of activity for the label we have the Archangel touching down with a mighty dose of dub-centric offerings by way of his “Phase Shift” EP. Over four tracks, the mastermind behind Celestial Conspiracy who is most known for unparalleled ragga jungle anthems, the Archangel traverses a deep and lush landscape of pulsating basslines, intelligent and murky vocal sampling, top notch percussion work, and ethereal atmospheres & melody. Firmly rooted in dub mentality, there is some meandering in traditional dub, dubstep, trip hop, drag/witchouse, and the like.

A forward thinking returning to the roots take on what it was that set off Bludclot Recordings when we first blasted off 3 and a half years ago, “Phase Shift” is the ideal EP to set it off once more for the label.

Bludclot trying to warm up the place even though it’s currently cold once more this spring here in the great Midwestern United States. The mighty Virgo & PeeWee Dread touching down with the four track EP “Drop Your Guns”. Both Virgo and PeeWee Dread hail from Minneapolis, MN in the United States, the birthplace and current home to Bludclot headquarters, so this one is a little special for us here at the label.

Virgo has been down with the area’s premier and founding jungle/d’n'b crew The JVC since the early 90s and PeeWee Dread is part of the area’s premier reggae band, Dread I Dread. Together, along with a handful of supporting cast and crew, “Drop Your Guns” delivers serious heat as mentioned above by way of a classy and classic sounding positive and conscious skanking reggae number, some proper future and real deal dub/dancehall flexing, a sick roots dub meets dubstep effort, and a drum’n'bass remix of the TCDNB classic “Drones”. Strictly original vocals, no voicings here, by PeeWee Dread and a couple other heads from the area with Virgo and a few more heads at the controls.

A collaborative effort between Bludclot Recordings and Copyright Infringement Laboratories and the two men who spearhead both, The Artbreaker and Sravana108 respectively. 

The original tune holds a special place in both of our hearts and what better way to showcase our love for it than by our own 2014 interpretations of it. Lots of forward thinking and throwback mentality present on this one from both remixers, enough to keep the OGs and the new heads bouncing.
