Blue Lilac started writing original material in 2020 after singing and playing as musicians with various folk and trad bands in Dublin and beyond.

Blue Lilac songs tell a story. Melodies are influenced by Folk, Americana and Traditional Irish music. Layered vocal harmonies and acoustic instruments are used to deliver powerful, visual lyrics; ranging from melancholic themes to topical protest songs. Blue Lilac lyrics draw inspiration from daily life as well as local and world events. Lyrics for some songs are taken from poems.

Blue Lilac’s debut album New Arrival is released in 2024.
