I had the privilege of engineering for Electric duo Killer Computers on their remix of the Happy Daggers track 'Pitch black'. 

We really took to the opportunity to make the most of the studio's large collection of analogue synths and drum machines. The Roland TR 303, 707 and 909, SH101 and RS-09 all feature heavily on the track. MIDI syncing two original TR 303's was a treat for any studio lover!! 

Since this session I've really enjoyed introducing analogue synths to a lot of my clients, they add a real edge to tracks that is tough to come by without having such a decent collection like the one in the studio. The SH101 has made some great additions to tonnes of great tracks!! 

Happy Daggers - Pitch Black (killer Computers Remix) (Electronic)

Yorkshire ska group the Brigantes have a brilliant natural swing to their music and producing them live helped to keep the authentic feel to the music. 

This was a real interesting session that used old school mic positioning techniques and the studio's clever 'moving acoustics' in order to capture sweet spots without suffering from too much bleed. 

It was ace to get into the studio with the Brigantes. Check them out, they're on to something real cool! Can't wait to get them back.

This session was literally the most fun I have had behind the mixing desk. These lads are the absolute best and I learnt tonnes of great stuff from working with them. I'm mega proud of this track, let me know what you think. :)

St Somebody - Home (Indie pop)

I've had the super cool, blue root sounds from the Rainey Street Band in recently for a live session. We had a big range of great instruments in; banjos, washboards and double basses! Everything recorded live. Here's one of there tracks. (love Whisky)

I used a lot of new techniques on the guitars for this ep and they turned out really great! Super bright valve warmth. 

Pin Stripe Tuesday "Warmth" (Indie Alt)

One of the tracks from the new Circus Wolves ep. There's loads of brilliant vocal ideas in this track. I love the ELO style mid-eight and the massive finish uses the same vocal technique that Visconti used on Bowies 'Heroes'. 

Hardly Cupid

Had great fun working with these charming lads recently. This track is by far my favorite. It's got a great Strokes, Franz Ferdinand vibe which I love! Keep and eye out for these guys on the Yorkshire gig scene!

Able's Army "The Sober side of Tipsy" - Indie rock.

This track has so much drive it's difficult to keep up! We added loads of great sounds from the vintage synths in the studio which add some great textures that I've become very fond of in other mixes. Check out the sick feedback at the beginning of the track too!
