The 2nd Track off Blue Child Collective's debut EP recorded late 2014, "Ocean Eye" is a song written on the beach in Corsica, France, about our connection to the ocean and how we live and love by it.

A quavering, sweeping duet, “Salt Spray” discusses the nature of cyclic change and the orbital nature of transformation and evolution, whilst relating this to nature’s ability to aid movement from dark through to illumination with ease, embodied in the building hook “rough transitions tend to leave you in a better position”, and mirrored in the releasing “salt spray softens my heart.”

Swelling to an epiphanous climax which opens out into a spacious sonic canopy, “Salt Spray” is a gut wrencher with positive resolve, and when compared to the rest of the album showcases Blue Child Collective’s diversity in composition, which benefits from the wide ranging flavours of the many artists contributing to the Collective; in this case Kiwi artist/vocalist Emjay, prolific percussionist Roger Biwandu (FR) and Corsican icon-cum-genius producer Jean-Bernard Rongiconi (FR), along with Yallingup (AU) mastering engineer Sean Diggins adding his sparkle to the track.

The brainchild of WA coastal lad Dan White, Blue Child Collective is a platform which facilitates collaboration between creative artists from many different backgrounds with the intent of blending experiential artforms to encourage innovation, creativity, collaboration and connection in the world as a whole.

Using music as the vessel for the voyage so far, Blue Child Collective released 2 EPs in 2015, “Blue Child Collective” and “Rivermouth”, along with a documentary in early 2016 year which received cinema screenings in WA and a number of feature videos, concept photoshoots and graphic design/illustration projects, which has seen their latest album venture into the realm of literature, featuring a 35pg illustrated booklet following a man on his whirlwind adventure through the cosmos.

Dive (Radio Edit)

Weaving the story of a lighthouse keeper overseeing a shipping lane
infamously named the “Eye Of The Needle” from his outlook at 
Cape Otway, the latest from Blue Child Collective is a hooky roots-reggae tune featuring guest vocals from Shannon Sol Carroll, frontman and salty seadog of Sunshine Coast favourites Band Of Frequencies.

Accompanied by a cinematic music video by David Owen Blackley
shot on the stormy South West tip of Australia, and 
featuring work from Dutch animator Chris Liefting, the video recreates
a world existing from the treacherous art of navigation, and a
lighthouse keeper sent stir crazy by the sight of it.

Featuring Bobby Alu on drums, OJ Newcomb (Afro Dizzi Act) on bass, Ken Allars (Caravana Sun) on trumpet and PaulieB (The Beautiful Girls) on keys/percussion, this is a tune with groove.

Eye Of The Needle

Eye Of The Needle feat. Sol

Written on a Mt Maunganui sunrise while on tour in New Zealand, “Golden” sees Blue Child Collective exploring new sounds, blending elements of indie folk and roots to produce a track in a similar vein to “Crosses” by Jose Gonzalez and Bon Iver’s smash hit “Holocene”, yet featuring a solid percussion bed, baritone vocals and clever group singalong.

The single will be accompanied by a music video shot on Super 8 film due to drop February 2020, and will see the group back across to New Zealand for a run of headline shows and festivals following the WA launches.

A quick follow up to the release of the group’s third documentary, titled “The Art Of Sound” in November, "Golden" paves the way for the release of two more singles and their fifth studio album later this year.

Golden

A Fluid Groove collaboration born from the West Australian coastline, Blue Child Collective's easy-flowing, conscious song craft "evokes the gentle rhythms and roaring freedom of Australia’s seaside" (Happy Mag).

Fronted by Dan White, an enthusiastic collaborator, multi-instrumentalist and fingerstyle artisan conjuring soundscapes spanning raging rhythmic grooves to bluesy licks and ethereal trips, this is music with purpose. From his thought-provoking lyrics to the Collective’s engaging live performances, Blue Child Collective reminds us that we're all, in essence, children of this blue planet and connected in our existence; one and the same.
 
The Collective's third record, “Saturn Saw The Seaside”, captured in Corsica, France and released late 2016 has seen them knock out close to 200 shows across Europe and Australia over the last year, bringing both full band dance offs and intimate duo performances to a rapidly growing global following.

Having supported major touring acts such as The Cat Empire, Sticky Fingers, Caravana Sun, OKA, Band Of Frequencies and many more, the group are notorious for their cross-pollination within and without the music industry, and are currently gearing up to release their second documentary with Her Name Is Murder Productions, “Building The Boat, Sailing The Seas – The Making Of Saturn Saw The Seaside”, which will take them across the ditch to New Zealand for the first time.

With a new album due out in 2018 fast approaching and multiple national tours to accompany, Blue Child Collective is rapidly growing into a major catalyst for positive change on a global scale as more and more people join the movement and contribute to the “Culture Of Connection”.
