Heute haben wir die in Berlin beheimatete cosima auf KataHaifisch zu Gast. Ganz im Zeichen ihrer selbst wird es heute musikalisch verträumt und vollends sorgenfrei. In diesem Set geht es um das große Ganze, ohne die Details aus den Augen zu verlieren. Der Frieden spaziert Hand in Hand mit der Freiheit, und Zeit und Raum verblassen in der Abendsonne. Wir geben uns voll und ganz dieser Expedition hin und wünschen gute Reise 🧡

I have played a few live sets this summer, each one with a special taste. I wanted to share them with you, so here it is the one I've played In Izmir, Turkey, for my dear friends of Chillout festival.

Hekske (the little witch) and Falke (the 10-year old witch apprentice) finally arrived in Hellas, after a long flight in Southeastern direction. Even when flying almost one thousand feet above the surface, they sensed the scorching heat which had engulfed this beautiful place. In the distance, they noticed a gathering of witches in an olive grove at the foot of Mount Olympus. They gently touched down and received a warm welcome from all the witches. This was easily the biggest gathering of witches they had ever seen. Karissa, a 936 year old witch, explained that they were about to participate in the Olympus games, which were being held every 4 years during the first full moon of August. This tradition exists already since the year 776 BC, which meant that this was the 701st edition since its inception!
Unlike the Olympic games for humans, the witch’s Olympus games are not competitive and are purely meant to allow witches from all over the world to connect with each other (and exchange recipes for magic potions). All witches received a long white dress from the organizers. The design of these dresses had barely changed over the last 2800 years and they were very elegant. 
The heat in Hellas was almost unbearable at this time of the day, and the witches decided to take a collective bath in the nearby Thermaic Gulf (which is a part of Aegean Sea). It was only at sunset time that they returned to the Olive Grove, where they lit a fire and several witches sang age-old songs, teaching them to the other women. Many witches came from nearby Makedonia, while other witches came from places as far away as Karelia or Lybia. But there were not only old songs, as the young witch Dualipa from Albania sang a few of her own new compositions, which brought a fresh new vibe to the community and made all the girls dance until well after midnight.
The following day started with a solemn ceremony. The last witches had arrived at the gathering.  They had come all the way from Mount Damavand in Persia, and they had brought the eternal flame from Zoroaster, which had been lit 1547 years ago.
After this ceremony, Karissa raised her voice and announced the next activity. This was the traditional ascent of Mount Olympus. She read aloud the rules, which had not been changed since 776 BC : no flying, no shortcuts and the maximum age for the participants is 620 years. This led to loud protest from Elektra, who had celebrated her 621st birthday one week earlier. All other witches joined the protest, until Karissa relented and announced that the age limit had been scrapped … before smiling mischievously and announcing that this meant that she could participate herself.  But the main rule was that all witches had to climb Mount Olympus together, which meant that they needed to help one another. The climb looked deceptively easy, but the new witches quickly found out that Mount Olympus was no ordinary mountain. Sometimes the summit disappeared in the clouds before reappearing a bit later but much further away. On top of that it was way to hot to walk, so they decided to rest in the shadow of some cypress trees and continue during the night. Etalem and Etenesh, two Ethiopian witches who were lightning quick, decided to walk ahead of the group and find the fastest and easiest road. This worked very well and after a long climb, the witches entered the realm of the clouds (where the temperature was perfectly bearable). And when they finally rose above the clouds, they all had a majestic view on the summit which was shining brightly in the soft evening sunlight. The summit was only around 300 feet away when Kalista raised her hand and explained that this was the end of the journey, as witches never climb all the way to the summit as a mark of humility and respect for this towering mountain…
