If you know me, you know I love Kamauu, and you know I love me some dubs. So here's my tribute to Kamauu's tune MăNDŭRĭN. After I saw Kamauu at Shambhala last year, I found a new appreciation for him as an artist and a performer. You can really feel his journey as he moves and flows on stage, and it was really inspiring. I hope you enjoy my version of this one, let me know what you think! :)

The Moon Scepter is a relic whispered about in the annals of arcane history, said to be forged from a fragment of moonstone that fell during an ancient lunar eclipse. Its shaft shimmers like silver water under starlight, etched with runes that shift and breathe as though alive. But in unworthy hands, it is said to cloud the mind with madness, pulling the wielder into the same endless orbit as the moon itself—forever chasing light through the darkness.

A symbol of both serenity and power, the Moon Scepter is less a weapon than a key—unlocking the mysteries of night, and the truths that can only be seen under silver skies lit by crimson fire.

The idea for this tune had been rattling around in my brain for the past year. I wanted to create a cosmic atmosphere using experimental synth sounds and guitar riffs. After I had the track pretty much complete I started to hear a melody line that I thought could be used for lyrics. I gave my friend Mary a call and had her sing the lead on this and really love how it all turned out!
