Blue Light Curtain formed in the fall of 2002.  The band consists of Paul Groth (Baritone Guitar, Vocals), Laura Bratton (Synth, Vocals) and Michael Sterling (Drums). 

The band released their first EP in 2006 and supported it with a West Coast tour. In June of 2012, BLC released their first full-length release, Clouds in Our Hair, recorded by Scott Colburn (Animal Collective, Arcade Fire, et al.).  Album available on vinyl and CD.

Groth and Bratton have been singing together in different projects for over 18 years, taking their vocal influences from duos like Sparhawk/Parker (Low), Shields/Butcher (My Bloody Valentine) and Kaplan/Hubley (Yo La Tengo).  The lyrics are simplistic and repetitive adding to the hypnotic musical drone.  Sterling drives the group’s dynamics by playing with and against synthetic pulses.

Blue Light Curtain has been playing in and around Seattle for the past ten years, appearing at the following venues:  The Sunset Tavern, The Crocodile, The Chop Suey, The Comet, et al.  Over the years, the band has played with national touring acts like Asobi Seksu, The Black Ryder, Blood Red Shoes (UK), Freezepop, and Fog
