THE PROMISE

I was born in Davenport Iowa, My Father was a Trumpet player and leader of his band Ricky Hines and the Stardusters till his death in 1958. I was then adopted by my Aunt and Uncle Chester and Virginia Runyon. They raised me to follow in my Father’s footsteps. I always had the opportunity to play and learn new instruments.
I have always loved drumming so as time progressed I started playing in blues and rock bands at the age of 21 my first being The Murphy Band of Rock Island, Il. I then went on to play for Nite Flite Band of Davenport, Iowa. After that other bands included the Adlibs, Dominant V, Kaos, Mirazh, Lester Wolf Band, Wolf Pack Blues Band, Four Wheel Drive Band, and Pair of Kings Band. All of these had band names others I have filled in for many times throughout the years sitting in and covering their need. I maintained playing guitar and singing in our folk group for my Church St Ambrose in Milan, IL, for 6 years every Sunday using my gifts of guitar playing and singing. I moved to Southern IL. in 1990 where I played drums in many bands and also playing for my Church St. Mary’s of Centralia, IL., for special functions and also youth ministry that we have called Quest. I have always maintained recording and learning my skills as I have always felt this is used like an instrument. My Father Ricky Hines (Hinrichsen) has always been a part of my music. If not for my wonderful Aunt and Uncle Virginia and Chester Runyon I wouldn't have the opportunity to be the person I am today. God has blessed me and I am thankful of all that I have experienced. I currently am achieving a dream that has been mine for a long time. I have worked very hard to perform an acoustic Singles Act. I enjoy playing the music I love, including 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s Classic Country Rocking Blues. I am also able to share the songs that I have written. I am the happiest when I see the people I play to enjoy the music.
