Blue Wake is a musical Project contrived by keyboardist and musical producer Alfonso Crespo (Madrid – 1966).

The project’s main goal is to feature compositions of his own performed by young anonymous talents, shaping in this form interesting musical productions.

This initiative has also relied on important producers specialized in musical technology in order to obtain some of the remixes featured here.

Born in Madrid, Alfonso Crespo had his first musical experiences working as a DJ in the 80s, going around multiple clubs in the Spanish capital and setting trends on foreign imported music mainly.

He was bedazzled by a TV appearance of the german group Alphaville, which made him refocus the prism of his influences, and his enthusiasm drove him to his first contact with keyboards and synthesizers:

“…I still remember when I started my first lessons. I bought my very first keyboard: a Korg DS8; something amazing in those days! I was very excited and I understood in that moment what my future should be…”

As a result of that enthusiasm, he took part on some local rock bands. He was part of the renown group “Mago de Oz” (Wizard of Oz) in its begginings, but it wasn’t until 1990 that he assembled “Out Berlin”, his first Electronic Pop band in which he participated as keyboardist and composer.

In 1992, after achieving some success, and as a consolidation strategy in a market that was more and more creative, the band changed its name to “Estatuas de Sol” (Sun Statues) and released 2 albums under a tendency that was markedly Synthpop and appealed to the followers of the style in which great artists like Pet Shop Boys and Depeche Mode thrived.
