You Got Me

“This Feeling”, in the Smooth Jazz genre, is a fast paced, dance-able love song. It is love, but moving
forward at lightning speed, kicking off with syncopated drums, female vocalist Twannee’s full
sounding harmonic chorus, and sound artist Blue’s energetic sax solo. The chorus is rich, soulfully,
with a R&B twist, articulating the words, “I’ve got this feeling you are the only one for me”. Our
energetic love story rolls up and down the landscape, with the horn section creating a lovely vista of
sound. Fast paced, syncopated drums keep us grounded, energized, and inspired while the scenery flies
by in a blur. We consider the message of vocalist Twanee’s poignant soundings. Yes, we have chosen
someone, and are in love. Artist Blue on solo sax described the lady in question, with all of her
wiles and charms. She is beautiful, graceful and kind. The soundings of an echo-ey guitar introduce an
earthy element to the soaring sound. “This Feeling” finishes up with a colorful mix of voice and
instrument, tying up loose ends, then bursting out with a bright colored firework of sound.

“Summertime”, in the Soul genre, opens with a field recording of children playing outside. Gentlemen,
start your engines! The CityLife smooth train is taking us places: with sweet lyrics from female
vocalist Twanee, our rising horn section, keyboard, syncopated drums all joining sound artist Blue
Wood’s sax solo in a fun filled adventure. Our road is summer, with all of it’s pleasures and joys. Artist
Twanee’s bright and cheerful vocal harmonies singing the chorus, “Baby, baby, I’m feeling fine, in the
summer, summertime”. This uplifting message is intermingled with strong melodic lines from the horn
section. Blue adds his personal dimension to the conversation with a masculine and soulful rap
solo. We can imagine enjoying a good time in the summertime, outside with a loved one, holding
hands, while we listen to the skillful soundings of CityLife paint the landscape with joyful and frame
filling sound.

“Sunny New Day” in the Urban Contemporary genre, has a swinging, Brazilian feel. This uplifting, yet
poignant song is propelled forward by energetic drums, and filled out with harmony between female
vocalist Twanne and the on-point horns sections. Sound Artist Blue adds depth to the song with his
moody and edgy rap solo. Blue, again on Sax, shares a mixed and soulful message with the horns
sections,
drawing pictures for us of the rays of the sun pouring through the window. There are tiny licks from a
bluesy guitar weaving in and out of our frame, adding bright color. The song builds, with jazz
instruments and voices, mixing uplifting vocal harmonies, horns, sax and drums. “Sunny New
Day” is complex yet approachable, feeling like we feel when we see the sun coming up for a bright
new morning.

“Years Ago” in the Smooth Jazz genre, starts off in a powerful way, with a wall of suspense, and builds
from there. Sound artist Blue Woods on Sax takes up the solo call and is joined by his strong
supporting horns section. The song is smooth, and rolling, but keeps us guessing. Freelance soundings
by female vocalist Twanee sing a lilting harmony with horns section and keyboard, keeling it real. We
can imagine CityLife as cool cats sauntering down the city streets. dressed to the nines in sharp gray
suits. Twanee, our euphoric and soulful female singer, swans around them in her silky dress and heels,
fabulous! Our story-telling saxophone conversed with us, explaining the event in question, “She said
what..?” This is followed by call and response from the horns section, filling in the details. “Years
Ago” is completed with vocalist Twanee’s gorgeous sound embroideries, and soulful chuckle, ending
things with a bright exclamation mark. A smooth, yet edgy ride.

Years Ago

“New Nardis”, in the Jazz genre, is sound artist Blue Woods re-imagined take
on the famous Miles Davis standard, “Nardis”. Woods fuses together his new
version of the famous melody with sound clips of Miles Davis. The recordings,
created by Ben Sidran, have Davis discussing jazz music in general and his famous tune
“Nardis” in particular. Blue overlays the voice clips and jazz melody with his own
soulful rap musings that sound like a cross between Tom Waits and Isaac
Hayes. In his storytelling rap he riffs on “Nardis”, and the huge influence
on his life of Miles Davis. In addition to vocal rap elements and the vintage
voice recordings, Woods uses his skillful saxophone solos in combination
with harmonic piano, and upright bass to paint our horizon with glowing sound. A
catchy and skillful jazz mix cover with sax, piano, and rap vocals praising Miles Davis’s
contribution to today's music.

Nardis

“No One Will Do”, in the R&B genre, is a poignant, full bodied
song about love. Female vocalist Tawnee’s soaring gospel style lyrics weave a gorgeous
embroidery of elegant vocal elements. Her soulful improvised words, combined with sound artist
Blue’s sax as narrative element to tell the story about enjoying the
qualities that make your lover unique. Additional touches of thoughtful, harmonic
piano, like bright, beautiful raindrops, join with the capable horn
section in telling the story of love and joy. At times the song has a
big band sound in it’s rhythmic progression. A positive and enjoyable experience.

No One Will Do

“Doin’ Fine”, in the Smooth Jazz genre, is hand crafted from layers of
smooth and syncopated sounds. Blue’s lilting sax solo opens the
song, setting up tone and structure. Our theme is moving on after a
breakup, and actually, “Doin’Fine”. Thought provoking and intense, female vocalist Tawnee’s
evocative improvised harmonic melodies combine in duet with sound artist Woods’s
well crafted saxophone melody. The two are supported with reliable and steady
drums, as well as the horn section’s solid and fierce wall of sound. A
smooth, layered ride.

Doin' Fine

“Can’t Believe” is a compelling Jazz tune with a dance-able beat, and
warm, soulful 1970 elements. Although the song’s subject is about a perfect lover
leaving, "Can’t Believe” abandons sadness in pursuit of groovy sound. Sound artist
Blue’s sexy rap opening is reminiscent of nineteen seventies music legend Isaac
Hayes. An enthusiastic cast of talented musician characters, and layered drums drive the
heart of this song forward. We are energized with sound punctuations from female vocalist
Tawnee’s powerful improvised harmony chorus, the tight horn section, guitar,
and piano, all of which are interspersed with Woods’s skillful sax solos.

“We’ve Got To”, in the Urban Contemporary genre, is a fast paced drums driven
song where soaring, soulful vocals, vocal harmonies and earthy rapping
meld together to create a positive, joyful sound. This strong opening

rap vocals sequence. The theme of the song is rising up and coming together as a
people to craft a brighter future for our world. The energetic sax solos
and Twanee’s elegant improvised harmonies uplift our hearts and minds, and propel
the feeling and positive message of unity upward into the heavens.
