The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Parrish Smith. "STRENGTH" comes off the artist's new LP, Light, Cruel & Vain, coming out May 16th on Dekmantel. Light Cruel & Vain was developed over the course of nearly three years, following nearly a decade of individual experimentation. Where on the one hand, LC&V reflects an inward pilgrimage (aka Parrish Smith facing the world and Parrish Smith facing Parrish Smith), the project simultaneously reflects the birth and growth of a band. Each track on the record is originally based on a solo idea, moulded and fine-tuned in conversation with contributing musicians Sofiane Brahmi and Javier Vivancos, then finalized by the producer. "STRENGTH" also features vocals by Cardinal & Nun and  Sofiane Brahmi on guitar.

The result is a 11 tracks that weave through a mosh pit of styles and slip through cracks and fall outside the lines of punk, techno, metal, grunge, no wave, industrial and beyond. A true "compilation of imperfect music", be prepared to be entranced, enthralled and maybe even slightly uncomfortable - but in a way that challenges the current musical paradigm and shifts to much broader horizons.

Vegas, the city of sin, the place where Presley went to set his soul on fire, the place where Nick Cage went to drink himself to death, the little man made purgatory in the Nevada Desert, within close range of the test sites of the Manhattan Project, the Science project which gave birth to the nuclear bomb. If something is Banned in Vegas you have to assumme it's so bad that it's good!
Blume Attempt's 'Hark Back (live)' is the final offering from the Series One tape compilation, which offers up a slow burner which sit's somewhere between Thomas Bangaltar's thee from Irreversible, and Mark Lannegan. Vicious saturated synth lines lay seductively beneath a subtle acid line which ironically starts to become more apparent at about 3 minutes 3 seconds. Something which your average techno nerd wouldn't fail to see the irony in. 
With a beast of a kick drum and a snare which hits so hard it makes you jump out of your skin, this track is spooky, fuzzy and awash with weird and wonderful vocals which only add to the idea that this track should not be banned anywhere, let alone in Vegas.

PREMIERE | Blume Attempt - Hark Back [Banned In Vegas] 2018

German label ‘Banned In Vegas’ presents their second volume of the Series One Compilation, including a bunch of friends and local heroes as Liepzig-based producer Blume Attempt. He dropped ‘Dissolved’ a slow acid break, in a pure 90’s big-beat tradition, punctuated by a heavy guitar bass, but gave it a strong melancholic and rainy mood which gives this tune in a unique dark and cinematic taste.
