Insects inspect them, those multiple strands that fill up each hand. Those bleached and braided and tentacle like cascading. invite the honey the tingling feet the scattering of wings, the openness to nature that invites a hovering. The shampoo rejecting the anecdotal remembering. the beehive of possibilities could end things romantically.

A formidable female
with huge hair
resplendent dreads
all tied up in the air
Now some senorita’s would struggle
But she pulled it off with ease
so impressive did it look
that it attracted a swarm of bees

Now she lost favour with salons

a cloud of orbiting insects (it was hard to define)

a pesticide pariah
an excess of wax
imposing buzzing
people turned in their tracks
she was a shameless transporter 
of natures miraculous providence
proving you could pull of any look
with sufficient confidence.

formidably forgiving and
hugely hearted
who decided to stay
while others departed
he was an understanding lover
unfazed by a million tiny wings
he’d hold her close to his chest
despite erratic sensations, itching and stings

A curious queen
Boadicea of bees
“such enamored lovers” she said
“we should certainly leave”
In a dazzling portrayal of patience
that surpassed all the faint hearted
