Chillin'

On June 1st, 2013 I was diagnosed with cancer. After 8 rounds of chemotherapy, over 50 days and nights spent in the hospital, countless blood transfusions, and a year later....I give you:

My Heart. 

This is for anyone who has ever shared a kind word...for anyone who has supported me and my family along this tumultuous journey...for anyone who has been affected, one way or another, by this terrible disease. I hope to inspire you all half as much as you've inspired me.

that’s enough to pressure to live your whole life sedated
find the tallest New York building and jump off it
swan dive through rain clouds into a coffin
never speaking to god cuz he letting us down too often
i close my eyes and confide to my demons, at least they talking
the light never shine bright round my life, but i ain’t worried
said the sky was the limit, i moon walked in the darkness
so never again do i need to search for an inspiration
look back from here at my past year and feel amazing
look back and remember my dads face, tears forming
they complimenting my strength like i ain’t spent years on it?
where you been? laid my head  on both sides of the fence
from writing till 3 am to getting high with my friends
I’ll always remember times when i couldn’t sleep for a week
i’ll always remember crying, them tears still dried on my check
i’ll always remember puking so much that I couldn’t speak
waking up in the morning tryna stand
but too weak
i tell her how i see the world
my heart is a sea, 
she used to shallow waters,
I was too deep
some find the fall too steep, i wanted steeper
I wanted to swap stories with angels and grim reapers 
I wanted to swim quarries of doubt, then climb out 
and i did 
you wouldn’t believe what i found out
as a kid,
i thought dying was something you strive for
looking back at your life with smile, you fade peaceful 
surrounded by people you know in a room full of love 
but as I grew, i learned death was something way more evil
how you supposed to be happy when you is only 19
writing your will, swallowing pills so you might sleep
getting the chills every slight breeze you see
wondering if tonights when you dreaming your last dream

i need to separate myself to stand out
i need a better way to reach my plans now
i need to show these kids i understand
n show em they truly can
i’ll be here if they put they hands out

but i never asked for no hand out
in the midst of it all i recall a call when you said how
you was so proud of what i accomplished and how i’m always so honest in every song,
knew that i wouldn’t stay down
and you was right, i think in a past life i was 
mark twain or kurt cobaine or yung mike
i was scarface, with a less coke and more fight
i was charlemagne, the first to be named blunder for life
i remain, blunted for life, i remain one of the brightest
my heart one with the dark and my soul one with the mic
my hunger resides inside the belly of every beast
but i’d rather starve on my feet, than feast on my knees
when whole world thinking yo life is already fading
