C. BOUNDED
Rising Pads are paired with an echo to keep the depth of this tune relevant. Ethereal pads ring through as the drums drop down hard. The drop brings some inspiration as the sharp hit of a ride cymbal and the reminders of classic reece bass lead up to deep subs that keep us dancing.

D. REDLINE
If you wanted classic minimalism, you’ve got it. Exuberant production quality here coming in from the first hat. It’s as if we’re going back to the days of classic neurofunk. Take note, big, nasty bass isn’t needed to make an impact. This was the sound of drum & bass’s heyday - and Detect Theory has done a brilliant job in elevating it.

Easy to Love is an abysmal stepper – with rolling bass that comes up from the depths of the Earth like a volcano. Properly accented with gritty neuro-esque bass, it’s as if C3PO and R2D2 got a hold of this one and went into the lab. Cheeky and driving, you’ll be against the bins of bass or driving the dance straight into the floor. And of course, once you see LOVE in one place, you’ll see it everywhere. It really IS easy to love. That female vocal is out of this world!

Let Me Go rolls deep and hits on the feels right away. Spacey pads lead for articulate drums to drive the vibe in the intro before ethereal male vocals light up the backdrop similar to the previous. Gritty and deep, the opening passage makes its way to anthemic horns reminiscent of Dead Can Dance’s Dawn of the Iconoclast. Pads bring it back down momentarily with effective risers paving the second dance for this deep stepper.

Beautiful changes the scene, becoming more uplifting than the previous two. Beautiful leads open up like gates of Heaven. Pads, angelic voices, and chimes cue the entrance of a deep drop, body-warming sub lines and divine pads. Chorus-laced harmonic vocals sprinkle to connect the soul to the dance – after being apart from each other for so long. Emotionally driven, it’s exactly what we need.

Grooven’ is introduced by hihats that crescendo in this uplifting stepper. Keys and vocal pads make up the structure, while delicious amens make a sudden appearance for a welcome change. Minimal squelches are expected as the previous and appreciated throughout.

Snowtek aka Thomas Schneeweiß is a DJ and producer from Vöcklabruck, Upper Austria.

Influenced by his first club visits he developed an interest as a DJ and started as a resident DJ in his hometown venue GEI Musikclub.

Since  2016 he organizes with his crew "NU:Vision" Drum and Bass Events in Upper Austria/Salzburg and he began to producing a couple years later.

His first single releae alongside his partner in crime Ferice was "Keep On Anything" and "Closer" which came out on Blu Saphir in late 2020, their second releae and first EP entitled "Let Me Go" came out in mid 2021 on Blu Saphir as well and had massive support by the likes of John B, Alibi, DJ Silver, Bassface Sascha, Ash Attack, Cauzer, Reid Speed, Random Movement, Schematic and many more. Their latest releae the "Underwater" EP  came out on Celsius Recs a month ago and is another materpiece.

A. FIND THE PLACE
Heavy bass and rolling vibes fills FIND THE PLACE from the start. Straight out of the gate,  angelic harmonics, filtered male vocals, stompy drums and heavenly pads put the listener in another place and time. Remember those days of Marky & XRS' smash hit, LK? Yea. That one. You like it, right? Half time comes swiftly and makes its exit just as fast as when it first entered, before dropping one more time. The female vocal over the top is euphoric enough to launch any atmosphere into a groovin' frenzy. Squelchy pads create a divine build-up as the number goes in and out of its various sections. Smiles all around as the male and female vocal create a duet throughout. This one's guaranteed to be remembered. Rewind!  

B. MEDIDANCE
Horn stabs and simple percussion introduce MEDIDANCE. You might want to grab a partner to dance to this one. Ignoring the lyrics isn't too respectful. Huge bass rolls through the low end promptly as pads and other layers arrive. The heavenly pads add grace, before another build-up resets the vibe as a prelude to another big drop.

A. DORIAN & SKORE – SPRING FEVER

Fluttering, surging drum patterns come in perfect time for the changing season. There’s no surprise at why Noisia likes Skore. Subtle melodies play in the background while the beats drive towards dance floor creation. The bass drops, growling amidst old school samples that bring us back, while the drums pile on like last night’s buffet dinner.
 

B. RAFAU ETAMSKI – FEEL ME

Syncopated drums fill the air as sweeping pads introduce the sweet vocal. The sweet male voice that sings to a lady that has drifted millions of miles away from his heart can be found tagging the dance floor into a sea of ecstasy. C. CARTER & SALEM – MAGDALENA

Chilled out and rolling, acoustic strings imitate a beach-laden sunset, as sweet piano keys make their entrance to a wide audience, before strings cue the drop. Rolling vibes light up the place as the strings take to the foreground. So blissful and lush, sub-bass rolls along the floor. The break brings a soul-soaring string interlude, prior to the cello taking the stage once again, as the drums and bass roll out.


D. FLASHBACKFM & READSENSE – PLEASE

Shakers and a meloncholy piano bring in this melodic number. Please plays out the classic liquid vibes, featuring emotional vocals, and a drumbeat that plays to the crowd.

Opening up the EP like a lovely walk on a beach pier while the breeze rushes through your hair, Seasons emphasizes subtle beats and tranquil keys. 

Layered vocals light up the dance floor, leading into The Line – melancholy vibes shake the core. 
Deep, rolling drums swarm underneath swooning pads, and a lovely vocal to match. Instrumentation builds through space and time, leading to a beautiful break. 

Place yourself to the speaker. Wonderland awaits. Voices builds with confidence, another stepper featuring the elements of the duo previous to it. 

Finishing out the EP, Waves switches up the breaks and places a male in favor of the previous female vocal dominance. The bassline drop is pleasant, and perfect for the spring time vibes that build around the second half of the final track on this superb release.

The perfect release for the summer opens with a vivacious flutes and a building lead line that commences into classic liquid breaks. Briefly taken down before the drop, subtle squelches add to the pad backdrop. Gracefully minimal, “I Should” is a beautiful floor rumbler that is perfect for a beach day or a club venue where the lights are down low.

B. ETHEREAL:
Melodic pads open up the number, danceable from the get-go. The bassline hits quickly as the floor will give in and blissful dancing is bound to ensue. The contrast between the pure vocal and the slightly tuned “beautiful” in the background makes for a fun and uplifting vibe.
Absolutely perfect to set up a festival in your home, backyard, etc. Turn up the speakers, invite some friends over, and get down!

Muffler is back on Blu Saphir, this time with a rework of one of his all time beauties “Can You Feel”. A sullen piano introduces the piecel. It isn’t long though before the snare and hi-hat quickly pick up speed and all energy is directed straight to the dancefloor. A very groovy, melancholic number. Old school sounding in nature but definitely for the new crowd, the squelchy second drop directs this chilled out roller to build in intensity, keeping the energy alive. The tune winds down, reintroducing the piano line and taking us with it on a gust of wind, exiting to an angelic silence.

Blu Saphir Recordings was created in 2005 on the grounds of improving and expanding the variety of sounds that liquid funk has to offer. Jay Rome got in contact with Muffler, Kaleb and Contour back in 2003. He loved their music and decided to work with them on a new label to release proper music,” the label owner comments. “Twintone and I had completed a tune entitled “I Try” which had such good feedback that Muffler decided to do a remix. We had these tunes ready for the label, so we started Blu Saphir Recordings to release it.”

The label has gone on throughout to release two more singles, featuring the aforementioned Muffler remix of “I Try” and Bungle remix of “Synapse” on the latest release, number 003. Number four is on the rise with Aspect’s “Soul Lady” and Electrosoul System’s “Fun” and 005 is out now with Jebar & D.K. Foyer’s “Rhytual” and a remix by Soundtrax mastermind, Big Bud on the flip. The following 006 will be another masterpiece by the likes of Chino and Submorphics with the tunes "Jade Sunrise" and "Revisions".

There’s a lot in store for the future of the label. Featuring upcoming releases by Derrick & Tonika, Bassface Sascha,Ill Esha, The Ego and label owner Jay Rome himself, Blu Saphir will continue to push on a new sound of liquid funk to the masses. 

DIGITAL BLUS

Following three years of mighty Blu Saphir tunes, we have decided to launch a sister label dedicated to releasing the highest quality drum & bass mp3s. The main focus of the new imprint is to cater to upcoming producers who are putting out quality tracks but haven’t secured a vinyl release yet. The label will have a similar sound to the Blu Saphir parent label, housing many of the styles you’ve already become familiar with, including liquid, atmospheric and deeper minimal drum & bass.

The first release features Birmingham newcomer Fluxem with a superb duo of liquid tracks, “Justify” and “Everything”. His tracks have been played by many of the heavy hitters of the melodic side of drum ‘n bass including Chrissy Chris (1xtra), Ash Attack, Dan Marshal, Specific, Submorphics and many more. Digital Blus will be available through Beatport, Itunes, Finetunes and Trackitdown.

As evolution would have it, the force behind the Blu Saphir camp wasn't done – 2013 dawned a new era of techy, deep, dark and rolling drum 'n bass in the amalgamation of Blu Saphir LTD. Introducing a pair of thunderous rollers by Japan's Hayato, the imprint has gone on to release bangers by Monologue, DJ Chap, Roy Green & Protone,NME Click and many more. Up & coming releases by Inkognitiv and our exclusive label artist Sequences.

SYNC:SAPHIR

After numerous successful releases on both labels, label owners, Jay Rome of Blu Saphir and Syncopix of (you guessed it!) Syncopix Recordings have combined forced to create a new collaboration, Sync:Saphir.

“The goal behind Sync:Saphir is to push out some fresh minimal, deep and liquid drum and bass music by both talent new artists and well known producers,” Jay Rome of Blu Saphir goes on - “At first , I had the idea to release an EP with Syncopix, but then we decided to make a bigger wave with an LP and two sampler vinyls. The LP will be a double CD album. One will contain a back-to-back mix between Syncopix and myself alongside MC Shnek, (who is also a well known producer, releasing several tracks with Concept on C.I.A. and Soundtrax Recs). On the other CD we will present 13 tracks by both well known and fresh newcomer producers.”

Artists planned to appear include Electrosoul System, Muffler, Mr. Sizef, Enei, Syncopix, Henree, Joe Syntax, Paul B, Edward Oberon, Bionic1 and a few others. Both samplers are available now, while the double CD has a planned January 2010 launch date, followed by the digital release in February (which will contain a few bonus tracks).
