PREMIERE: Cam Lasky - Abyss [ Void+1 ]

During a creatively barren week, the Void+1 administration was doing the equivalent of "doom-scrolling" applied to music-hunting: endlessly clicking play on random tracks on numerous shops in hope to find a gem, just to experience nothing but the exact same mundane sounds randomly arranged in a sequence. After what felt like an eternity, one of those clicks led to Cam Lasky, and fascination ignited.
Cam Lasky, a person shrouded in more mystery than your favorite super-hero character, is crafting genre-bending music suitable for both home-listening and the club. A handful of scattered pieces of information about his origin, such as his residence in Kyoto, and a never-ending back catalogue of his music, is all that can be found on the internet. This back catalogue is all you will ever need though, because the only thing more fascinating than the lack of information about such a formidable producer is the intimidating amount of tracks under his belt. We are talking about hundreds of tracks, the quality of which seems to exponentially rise with each release, to the point where we can't help but ask ourselves, where will the limit of it be?
He releases EPs seemingly weekly, almost exclusively for his own imprint, KWAIOTO, with the concept of scoring music for his favorite literary and visual works, usually from sci-fi and horror genres.
We are happy to have managed to secure one of his releases on Void+1, for which Cam has chosen to produce four tracks inspired by "Two At The End" by William Nkemdirim.

This meticulously crafted dystopian soundscapes are engineered to obliterate any dancefloor, heralding the chaos.

The album ignites with intricate drum patterns that thunder like tanks across a barren, icy wasteland, while haunting atmospheric elements loom, setting a menacing tone for the journey ahead.
Next, a feverish descent into robot’s nightmare ensues, where mechanical drum liturgies weave relentless tension, immersing listeners in a post-human auditory realm.
As the odyssey progresses, doom-laden horns and mechanized drums merge to unleash subversive, devastating frequencies.
Just when the intensity seems to peak, filthy analog sine waves bubble through obscurity, pushing the boundaries of industrial techno music to its limits. 
Annihilation is the word that resonates here.
Closing the chapter, one of Belgium’s finest producers, Peter Adrienssens aka 6SISS, delivers a sinister remix showcasing his hyper-cerebral syncopated signature - bringing the release to another level of chaos.
“Not for the faint-hearted” is no mere euphemism for this EP; it is a stark warning that demands to be heeded.

DBR Premiere | Tøtal - Ari  gnaq [DBR074]

Argentine-born and Chile-based producer CementO returns to Holiday Addict with Unsane Vision, a techno EP that functions as both sonic time capsule and personal manifesto. Composed largely of unreleased material dating back two decades, this release captures the raw tension of an era marked by global anxiety — filtered through distorted rhythms, relentless BPMs, and politically charged samples that still sting with relevance.

The sound design is unapologetically abrasive. Kick drums land like blunt-force trauma, wrapped in analog hiss and saturated beyond conventional thresholds. Synths don’t shimmer — they groan, corrode, and rupture across the stereo field, channeling a type of industrial decay that feels less like aesthetic choice and more like existential condition. CementO leans into chaos, rejecting polish in favor of emotional directness.

What unifies the EP is its refusal to compromise. Each track is built to provoke, with dense rhythmic programming that borders on hostile and textures that demand physical spaces — dark clubs, illegal warehouses, nowhere polite. George W. Bush-era speech fragments interspersed across the record don’t serve as commentary; they’re used like debris, embedded in the concrete mix of CementO’s sonic architecture.

Unsane Vision doesn’t seek approval — it asserts presence. It’s techno that snarls rather than seduces, grounded in a DIY ethos and a clear desire to sound different for every pair of ears. For listeners drawn to the genre’s confrontational edges, CementO delivers something bracing, unfiltered, and fiercely rooted in its own logic.

Since the turn of the decade Token has by and large been an exclusive platform for the music of Inigo Kennedy, Ø [Phase] and Ctrls. The Belgian label has, however, remained on point by putting out formidable productions by Rich Oddie & Ancient Methods’ Eschaton project, German powerhouse Rødhåd and Spanish heavy weights Oscar Mulero and Christian Wünsch as Spherical Coordinates, to some intercontinental fare by Xhin and Go Hiyama. Token, an iron clad operation continuously manufacturing unyielding techno, has always, deep within its impenetrable shell, had a soft spot for British techno. And following a reissue of Mark Broom’s “Two”, maintaining the glacial release rate of Rodz-Konez legend Makaton, and welcoming Surgeon to its fold with the thunderous Fixed Action Pattern 12”, the Belgian label seeks out some fresh UK blood by inviting James Shaw, aka Sigha, to debut on the label with a stylistically sleek and suitably booming 12”, Our Father / A Better Way Of Living.

On equal part, Sigha’s Token debut chalks up another milestone for the Berlin-based Englishman, not only because his name is now up there with the likes of the aforementioned, but Our Father / A Better Way Of Living provides Sigha with his first release away from a label that Shaw’s not intrinsically related to. Prior to this it’s been Scuba’s Hotflush, Shifted’s Avian, James Ruskin’s Blueprint and Shaw’s own Our Circula Sound that have unleashed his productions, and Sigha now steps up to deliver Token a linear 12” full of cosmic flavour and warehouse attitudes that judiciously falls between the sonic aesthetics of Inigo Kennedy’s twinkling melancholia and the interlocking kick drums and basslines of Ø [Phase]. And there’s no doubting that both Token and Sigha are better for it.
