One of the most remarkable remixes comes from The Phantom. Adding a virulent vocal and perfectly blending in percussion, piano and strings. This is what it would sound like if Antionio Jobim and Quincy Jones would make house. A pure masterwork. 

With Shapes (who made big steps with their ‘Nite N Day’ EP on this imprint) on board for a remix, there’s no misjudgment possible. Organic chords vs jacking beats for any moment in the set. 

Matthias Zimmermann cuts up the vocals and pushes the groove to an ultimate. Developing the track to a dreamy stage. Just when you are lost in your dreams the groove suddenly drops producing a instant goosebump effect. A diamond with it’s own identity. 

Newcomers Wax Moses supplies us with a undeniable dancefloor tool. Swingin basses are accompanied by melodic chords uplifting the track to a energetic track needed in this package. 

Shadow Dancer flips the track into a unique peace of art combining chopped up samples with an acid sequence and gradually layering elements continuously building up more and more energy.

New EP ‘Heartbreaker’ out 25th November on Vinyl and 9th December on Beatport

Lead singer of award-winning band Bloc Party and DJ/Producer Kele Okereke has announced a new EP of original productions on Crosstown Rebels in November. Out on vinyl on the 25th November and available on Beatport on the 9th December, the new ‘Heartbreaker EP’ from Kele Okereke features four tracks which display his love for electronic dance music genres such as garage, house and deep house. 

The first track from the EP, eponymous ‘Heartbreaker’ shows Kele’s UK Garage influences, and features vocals from Bobbie Gordon. ‘God Has A Way’ features old school house chord stabs, more uplifting guest vocals and a driving rhythm, whereas ‘Get Up’ provides a sparser, deeper atmosphere and is the only track to feature Kele himself on vocals. The EP also features a remix of lead single ‘Heartbreaker’ by German deep house DJ Recondite. His first two solo EPs 'The Boxer' and 'The Hunter' pushed the envelope for his electronic production standards, and now this EP continues further on that dancefloor trajectory. 

From Bloc Party’s Platinum-selling debut album to Okereke’s guest vocals for The Chemical Brothers, Tiesto and Sub Focus, dance music has always been the underlying influence for Kele: “I’ve always loved the inclusive and spiritual nature of house music, so the opportunity to make music for the most iconic and influential house music label in the UK is a dream come true for me.” Having spent ten years making records in studios working with some of the greatest producers in the world, Kele now feels he knows how to make music that he wants to hear.

Tepr sort son deuxième EP « Half below » toujours sur Partyfine, avec le leitmotiv « pop is more » en tête.

Half Below élargit la brèche ouverte par Tepr sur son précédent EP « Hypnotease". Le spectre s’élargit, la House se fait mélodique, les rythmiques se font discrètes mais ne perdent jamais de vue la danse.

La voix est présente, samplé et loopée sur les deux titres les plus pop, « Half Below » et « Whatever », tandis que le reste du EP fait office de face B nocturne, avec deux titres House instrumentaux. Tanguy Destable glisse doucement mais surement vers une Dance music plus pop, où le synthétique et l'analogique se mettent au service de l’écriture.

Tepr sets to release his second EP this year « Half Below », again on Partyfine, with the « pop is more » motto in mind.

Half below broadens the breach Tepr opened with his last EP « Hypnotease ». The spectrum is wider, House becomes melodic, eurythmics more discreet but never lose sight of dance.

The voice is more present, sampled and looped on two tracks more pop, « Half Below » and « Whatever », when the rest of the EP is used as night-time B sides, with two instrumental House tracks. Tangy Destable slowly but surely slides towards a more pop Dance music, where synth and analog put themselves at the service of writing.

Must Get There marks the debut for Majestique on Eskimo Recordings. The original is situated in that wide area we call “disco” and is backed with remixes by Martin Dubka and Drop Out Orchestra.

Bursting from the digital underground is Majestique, a Dutch production duo that grew up in the mid eighties. After they ran into each other, they discovered a shared passion for strange chords, running arpeggiators and dusty drum computers. A passion that is possibly programmed in their brains by influencers like Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis and Giorgio Moroder. With sudden access to unlimited analog machines, it felt like a higher power was trying to tell these guys it was time to create something timeless in a digital era where music is consumed so quickly.

Must Get There is taken from the upcoming Eskimo compilation that will be out after summer.

The Dirty Glam Jams are Afro and Latin infected tracks. Made for wild disco beaches and hot terraces.
