A versatile excursion through sonic spaces and audible pathways, a voyage through a vast range of Up-tempo celebrations and Down-tempo meditations, grooves, rhythms and arrangements. The two members Labros and Diogenes offer a unique approach to the terms Psychedelic and Trance through a story telling and surprising concept which has it's true influences in the ancient Greek mythology. Classical instruments form a harmony with the latest inventions technology has to offer. Dark Prisma Records has travelled across The Void and back to Earth, to bring you the one and only Conundrum Concoction, a new psychedelic-flavored, refreshing, invigorating, restorative tonic created to bring the psychonaut back home safe and sound.

This reintegration potion is the next chapter in The Void series, we have summoned the finest medicine men to unveil the secret formula and distill this fine elixir, a concoction between remedy and candy prepared to assist and confort you in your journey,  to give you a delightful new perspective.

This sedating syrup has been brewed by no other than Derango and Molokow , from the scandinavian forests of Sweden and Prisma,  side project from Filtro from Megalopsy, from the concrete jungles of Buenos Aires, Argentina. This will be a downtempo/chill out split album containing three pieces of each artist, navigating through different styles, making this release perfect for home listening or coming down after an intense night.

Title "They Should've Sent A Poet" relates to movie "Contact" from 1997. There the protagonist when it is carried by mystical experience, find no words to express the beauty of this state. Actually authors of a computer game "Starcraft" also related to this and an Archon (a unit in-game), a being that dwells in "Psi" realm, has this hidden dialogue which I sampled here. Original words come from the movie. In my track it goes:

They Should've Sent A Poet

Last year was filled with chaos in portuguese territory where 520,000 hectares (52 times the size of Lisbon) of forest got burnt, representing nearly 60 percent of the total area burnt in the entire European Union in 2017. 
This is the largest amount of land burnt ever in Portugal, over than 100 lifes were lost on these fires. 
We decided that we should help the ones that survived these fires and also preventing this situation of happening again, by contributing to valuable reforestation actions that will fight the eucalyptus business that was supported, but is now banned, by our government. All the profit generated by this release will totally revert to the reforestation of the North of the country.

This week’s guest of Free Harbour series is LOVI RITUAL.

LOVI Ritual combines elements from Finno-Ugric tradition and mythology with their own unique expression. Throughout the ages, music has been a way of interacting with the present moment. A way to be in dialogue with your community and the nature around. Both musicians have been studying musical traditions, that have their roots in this interaction. Not being a performing art, but art of life itself for the sake of itself.
It all boils down to exploring the countless ways of how the authentic human expression manifests itself through our own cultural lenses. LOVI Ritual aims to hold a space for deep introspection and connection, transcendental states and a realm where the layers of imagination and consciousness can be safely explored in a supportive environment.

Mikko Heikinpoika

Mikko Heikinpoika is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and music producer from Finland. He is part of the new wave of live musicians who strive to create powerful performance experiences through merging the worlds of acoustic and electronic, integrating ancient vocal techniques, live looping, grounded rhythms and deep, heartfelt bass frequencies.

Mikko is studying music in the Global Music program of Sibelius Academy, Helsinki, Finland. He is currently working on his Bachelor project. The themes of the project are transformation, authentic inspiration, flow, creativity and the origins and source of the mentioned phenomena, and how they manifest through our individual and cultural algorithmic compositions.

Vaskilintu

“Vaskilintu” is Magdalena Mölsä. She started her musical journey in the National Opera of Finland at the age of six and got re-emerged with music after visiting South-America 2017 and gaining interest in the healing powers of music. She is inspired by the therapeutic aspects of ceremonial music, and the power of music that affects the emotional landscapes of the human psyche. She is deeply inspired by her two cultures and roots in the south and the north but also trans-cultural sounds. Vaskilintu brings the archaic rootsy touch to her music and creates a a space where the modern meets the ancient.
