Hawfinch "singing"

Bramblings in their thousands move through Uppland in late April to their breeding grounds in northern Sweden. This very cold morning on April 28, 2024 around 100 bramblings temporarily stopped by a pond in the forest of Nåsten and sang their hearts out.

2025.09.13 Golden Whistler. Ngarkat Dawn. Early Spring.

A wide and deep, gently rhythmically hypnotic, mallee heathland dawn, from an evening to morning recording made with a mid-side rig utilising an omnidirectional mid microphone. (Relaxed listening with good quality headphones with flat frequency response, especially open-backed, at a moderate volume, is ideal.)

Recorded respectfully on the land of the Ngargad (Ngarket) people.

2025.09.13 Ngarkat Dawn. Early Spring.

I was in Estonia recently to check-out Matsalu National park to learn as much as I could about it before maybe returning in May to record.  It was the wrong time of year to record birds, however back in the city I recorded some street sounds on my last evening.  Equipment; A Sound Devices MixPre3 recorder and a matched pair of Primo microphones.  Recording 4476.

I think it is an (Ural) Owl making a never heard before screaming calls.
