Arguably one of the birds with the nicest voice. In slo-mo it imitates other birds, often repeating the same call several times. 17 June 2022, Sundbromark, NW Uppsala.

The third year in a row a pair of Blyth's Reed Warblers will nest at Salsta Castle, just north of Uppsala. Always a pleasure to record with all its imitations. At least 15 species are discernible in this recording: Chaffinch, House Martin, White Wagtail, Linnet, Common Swift, Goldfinch, Bluethroat, Blackbird, Yellow Wagtail, Blue Tit, Redstart, Fieldfare, Barn Swallow, Wheatear and Redwing. The battle of Marsh Warblers

Thirty years ago this was a species that only sang after 10 PM but nowadays it sings more and more often during daytime. This individual is mostly quiet during night-time but very active around noon. Perhaps this is a consequence that it is now a breeding species in Sweden, albeit still a rare bird.
