ASMR

I put out the drop rig to record owls but set it up during night and did not see that at the base of the pine was a wood ant nest. The recording was "ruined" by lots of wood ants going up the trunk during the night. Was unaware how much "noise" they create but it can perhaps be used as ASMR for relaxation :)

Burmese cat purring

While trying to record wolves (once again) this rather big moth, perhaps pine hawk moth, approached both of my Clippy microphones. A nice warm sound. This has happened so many times by now so I wonder if they are attracted to my grey Bubblebee wind protection...! In the background you hear  the wartbiter chorus all the time.

Night in the wolf forest during mid-August. This is the time of wartbiters, after a few minutes a brief rain shower drowns out their calls.

There is a wonderful pebble beach in the small picturesque former fishing village of Ygne south of Visby, Gotland. The wind was quite strong today so the sound of pebbles was not prominent.

Teal talk

I put out a droprig close to a nest of a Grey-headed Woodpecker in an aspen close to a small brook. In this recording you can discern a drumming Grey-headed Woodpecker and later on a dusk-singing Blackbird and Robin. And after sunset you will hear two wolves howl in the distance and in the final minutes a calling Great Grey Owl.

One of my goals this summer is to record thunderstorms, lots of thunderstorms :) Tonight's storm was very short and quite intense with a duration of less than 15 minutes.
