Wild boars are common in Uppland nowadays and this group was recorded in Nåsten just a few kilometers from the city centre of Uppsala, the fourth largest city in Sweden. A drop rig left over night in the forest. Uppsala, Sweden, January 21, 2023

A Badger's love affair

The beaver is not very talkative but in this recording you can hear some high-pitched "giggling" in between walking and munching on branches. The sequence starts and ends with a splash of the tail. Hågaån, Uppsala. May 6, 2023.

I was out to make a drop-recording of kingfishers when I accidentally placed the microphones less than 1 m from a beaver hut (small). I was lucky to finally record the whimper and moaning of a young beaver sucking milk, and when a dog is barking in the distance the beaver farts! Uppsala. May 14, 2023.

A family of Wild Boars

Last Friday we were out in our local wolf territory (1-hour drive from Uppsala) and at midnight a lone wolf howled at the moon. Always an amazing experience. Siggefora, Uppland. September 8, 2023.

A female and two young lynx are resident close to Uppsala and I put out the droprig hoping for some purring. No such luck but a fox was very vocal in the morning. Background noise is melting snow in the spruce. Uppsala. January 27, 2024.

Two hours before dawn the beavers are very active gnawing away. Also the bittern and toads continue their calls throughout the night. At dawn the full morning choir replaces the somewhat muted sounds with woodcocks, cuckoos, willow warblers, chaffinches, wood pigeons etc.
