Less than one km from home I suddenly heard three sparrowhawks begging for food (uncannily similar to the nestlings of long-eared owl). How could I have missed this nest throughout the year?

Following heavy rain during the night (30 mm) a family of Honey Buzzards took to their wings to dry off. As always one of the most secretive raptors and somehow I had missed that they had raised at least one young less than 1 km from my house! Håga, Uppsala. August 7, 2023.

The corvids were not happy this morning. Hooded crows, ravens and jackdaws clearly showed their discontent and in the end of the recording you understand why: a pair of white-tailed eagles had landed in their midst!
