Time is a Thief is a compilation of new generation beatmakers presented by EN TOKYO. As in Japanese, the word "EN" means connection, relation and friendship. These artists from around the world were gathered by connection through each Japanese beatmaker on this album. 

The artwork for the album illustrated by Steven Van Lummel, a visual artist from Holland. When Australian beatmaker mgkrp visited Japan; he, Bugseed, Lidly, %C and Pigeondust played a beat session at an art gallery's opening party for Steven Van Lummel's art exhibition in Tokyo. 

You could find amazing talent in the Japanese underground hip hop scene and too through their connection with their fellow beatmakers around the world.

オーストラリアのビートメーカーmgkrpが来日した際、bugseed、Lidly、Pigeondust、mgkrpのメンツで高円寺のレコード屋を散策していた。PigeondustのイベントRAWSでも馴染み深いイベントスペースAMPcafeで一服しようと入った所、オランダのイラストレーターStevenVanLummelがちょうど展示のオープニングイベントをやってた。私達がビートメーカーだという事を彼に伝えると、DJスペースを開放してくれ、即興のビート系B2Bが始まり、偶然近くのイベントに遊びにきていた%Cも加わり盛り上がった。お互いの作品が気に入った私達は展示していた作品から『Time is a Thief』という作品を購入し、そこにいた5人の”縁”で繋がる様々なアーティストとコンピレーションを作ろうという話になったのが今回の企画だ。あまりにも広い縁のため今回参加できなかった有名ビートメーカーも居る程で、今回の盛り上がりによってはvol.2も企画している。
