LK chief chanter Jahdan Blakkamoore, teams up with living reggae legend Akae Beka on this important call to rally and global awareness. Earth Cry pays homage to the struggles and survivors of many recent natural disasters throughout the Caribbean and beyond. This Zion I Kings produced track is a haunting banger, unique and solid. The composition originally tracked with a live baby grand piano, Hammond Organ, live drums, bass and guitars all through a vintage Neve console at Brooklyn, NY’s own Virtue and Vice studio in Fort Greene.
Akae Beka is the current manifestation of an evolving consciousness. Following a quarter of a century as lead singer and co-founder for the legendary, St. Croix-based band, Midnite, Vaughn Benjamin. His signature voice and edifying poetry grace an incredibly vast catalog of recordings as “Midnite”. Vaughn’s new revelation as The Akae Beka has quickly gained traction, already releasing 6 albums since 2015 and beginning to echo the world over in reggae music.
Highlighted on this release is the modern roots master, I Grade Dub. Laurent “Tippy” Alfred, a.k.a., I Grade Dub, delivers a high quality dub mix of the song in classic Jamaican dub style, driving and psychedelic, this track goes beyond the normal “B-Side” of a reggae record, giving disc jockey’s world over a chance to trance out on the riddim with select vocal drops and dub effects.

In combination style comes Nego Hights ‘The Warriah’ alongside Turbulence ‘Di Future’ bringing a heavy single, “Selassie I For Life.” Channeling their adoration and reverence for H.I.M. Haile Selassie I, Nego Hights and Turbulence linked with Wadadah II of D.O.V.E. Muzik to create a very profound song with wonderful melodies & lyrics. With an upbeat tempo and Roots-Reggae-Dub sound this song will have you skanking while being edified by the potent choice of words Nego and Turbulence chose to use within their lyrics. The phrase or ideal “Selassie I For Life” constantly echoes within the hearts of the Rastafari faithful, which is that message to carry on in this generation with righteousness and love by the example of H.I.M. Haile Selassie I. 
	
Slated to release March 2018 this will be Nego Hights’ first single of the year 2018. Recently Nego released an album entitled Judgement Morning in September 2013 with the D.O.V.E. Muzik label. Featuring 17 tracks from ‘the Warriah’ and various producers, the album received it’s greatest response with the song entitled I’m Feeling Like A Lion the first track on the album. Nego Hights, originally from Belize, has also done combinations with various Belizean artists such as Taprick, Ernestine Carballo, Nello Player, Denise Castillo, Ras Indio, Donkey Man & more. He has also hit combinations with Mexican Reggae artist Sgt. Remo when releasing Stronger In These Times a single featured on Sgt. Remo’s album entitled Sgt. Remo: Crucial Reggae Duets. This is another step into the future for Nego Hights and Turbulence. Turbulence a seasoned Reggae Music veteran has toured and worked with many artists such Sizzla Kalonji, Luciano, Lutan Fyah, Fantan Mojah, Capleton and most recently with Maikel Ante and El Medico from Mista Savona’s new compilation album entitled Havana Meets Kingston. Turbulence has touched stages in many countries around the world over a course of two and a half decades therefor granting him the title of an international Reggae artist. His discography is immense with over hundreds of singles and many albums. The teamwork of Wadadah II, Nego Hights and Turbulence brings us immense joy to see the rise of up and coming artists and producers mixed with seasoned artists.
	
Available on all major digital media outlets [i.e. Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Tidal, etc.] this single features two versions, a vocal mix and a dub mix. The riddim composer Wadadah II has continued a musical tradition of various engineers and producers such as King Tubby, King Jammy, Dub Scientist, Mad Professor and more by exploring the dub vibes and manifesting a upfull dub mix for all those dub lovers out there. This tune is also the first single released from Nego Hights’ new LP coming 2018 entitled Welcome to the Other Side.

The passing of reggae’s critically acclaimed, “Extra Classic” singer, Gregory Isaacs, certainly calls for a special update from Shockout.com. With close to 70 albums and hundreds of compilation releases, ‘The Cool Ruler’ started his music career in the late sixties and pleased millions with his charm on stage unitl passing this year in October. This mix called Vintage Cool Ruler comes from the morning I learned of Gregory's passing. It highlights the early years of Gregory when hit singles were recorded with Jamaica’s award wining studio band, Soul Syndicate. You’ll also get a nice dose of hit selections from the late 70’s and early 80’s recorded with studio musicians Sly & Robbie and Roots Radics.
