Just a Waitress That I Know

‘Bobby’ Coleman, (Robert Maury Coleman ) was born in Washington DC in 1949. At the age of 12 he took up guitar, and by 14 the banjo and harmonica during the folk music craze of the early 60s. His teenage band ‘The Deadbeats’ recorded a demo with guitar great Roy Buchanan and a local 45 RPM record with some direction from Link Wray. In 1968 he switched to bass guitar and was co-founder of the band ‘Babe’ which became well-known in the DC music scene in the early 1970s. He played with Liz Meyer and then Steuart Smith (Eagles) in the late 70s. In 1980 he retired from professional music but continues to sing and play guitar in local venues.
