An album of at-home solo multitrack recordings of new compositions by Bob Gluck, and interpretations of music by other composers, all performed during the pandemic. Fall 2021-Winter 2022. I was enamored with the idea of juxtaposing the piano with various zither and dulcimer sounds. Eventually, I began to learn to play hammered dulcimer, but how that will play out is something for the future. Thanks for listening!

A new take on the solo piano title track of my 2020 album, "Early Morning Star." The original is on BandCamp at https://bobgluck.bandcamp.com/album/early-morning-star. I'm enjoying revisiting some of the music I've recorded over the years as the spirit moves me. I play them once or twice and upload a recording. Simple!

Early Morning Star (Gluck)

This new take of "Something Happened" (from my 2024 album "and a fleck of russet") began as a two track (one hand on piano and the other on the Roli keyboard) single take recording, but it sounded a little thin, so as I played it back, I added a second piano (also one hand) and Roli Equator bass (with the other). So in the end it was a a a single take with an overdub, kind of a four hand keyboard recording.

Something Happened (Gluck)

A multi-section, mult-itrack composition crafted from analog synthesizers (yes, twirling knobs and sliders), Roli keyboards with Equator software, UVI pianos, and Bitwig Studio.
