This is a cover of a Marty Robbins tune that I loved since I was a kid and my Mother would play it on the stereo - Mr Shorty.  Dave Lyons does a great job on fiddle considering he didn't know the song!

The Rankin Family sang this as their encore song on this last Western Tour...from their Reunion CD.  We loved it and are still learning it but here is an early version from Julie live at the Wynndel Coffee House last night (March 10,2012).  Excuse the chirping sound there is an issue with the stage monitors on the sound system!

The Departing Song

This has been a Favorite tune of mine since it was written by one of My Influence's in Music  - Gordon Lightfoot.  This was recorded live at The Canyon Coffee House in the Creston Valley, BC and was "jammed" out  with Bryan Feguson adding some Great licks & Myself on 12 String & Vocals.

Another musical influence for me is Tom Russell - I Love his stories and style.  This Live recording took place at the Opening of the Creston Blossom Festival a long time ago.  My Friends surprised me as I was about to do a solo set and joined me on stage - Bryan Ferguson on Bass & Roger Feener on lead guitar (two Wonderful Musicians.  Bryan is still playing & Roger is still badly missed since his passing.

Far Away

Peanut Butter & Jam are a trio located in the Creston Valley of British Columbia, Canada.  The members are Julie Groot on lead & harmony vocals playing flute and penny whistles, Shirley Cameron on lead & harmony vocals and penny whistle, Bob Gollan on lead/harmony vocals and guitar We love to sing and play music just for fun, but we sometimes get small gratuities!  Our main interest is in Celtic & Maritime music but we love ALL kinds of music and like to create our own arrangements as a group we know about 700+/- songs but not all are committed to our ageing memories!

We are fortunate to live in a Community with a lot of wonderful musical talent and a few venues to get together with them, so we often have additional "honorary" members who perform with us!  One of our favorite groups is the Rankin Family who we had the great pleasure of seeing for the very first time in January 2012.  We play a LOT of their wonderful music and as I said many others.   We enjoy seeing and listening to other amateur musicians live and on the Internet and know, as well as recognize the joy that playing music brings!  I encourage you to post your music as we have as WE DO like to hear you!  Keep playing...
