We were at a family function when our boys were very young. I was on one side of the room; she was on the other. Shirl (my wife of nearly 5 decades) was dealing with our boys and I was just mesmerized by ....well.... her! That girl was just born to be a Mother. Everything she's ever done has just pulled me in. Although I made this song about the day we met, it has come to mean so much more. Her tentacles have pushed their way into every crevice of my soul.

In 2011, I was away from home for 8 months trying to accomplish something that if I succeeded, would have helped us both for a long time to come. Long story short, It failed miserably.
