My grandmother died last week.

I'm not too broken up about it, but it got me thinking about time. It passes, and for good or ill, we have to try to exist in that flow. Eventually, we're all buried by the sand in the hourglass, but we have to try to enjoy our view outside of the glass pane keeping us inside. Look around in life, and you'll see wonders beyond fathom, often creations of your own imagination.

Humans are complex creatures. And humans with a desire to create have always found each other, always connected over their passion. Ever since the first hominids built tools, we have had the inherent desire to make, to birth something new from nothing. We create and are created, we destroy and are destroyed. Such is the nature of life.

To be raised in a gathering of those inclined to create music, passionate electronic ballads and hymns to the whims of the dreams in our collective unconscious, has been one of the greatest opportunities of my life. I was molded from a child into an adult by this place, and taught to love a great fleeting and persistent dream of pure creation, even if only for those magical moments where life is in harmony.

I'll always have the memories, but it's time for me to move on. I'm stepping towards bigger and better things, towards a serious life of music that you all taught me I wanted to live.

Thus, let this be my parting gift.
