At a recent NERFA conference in Kerhonskon, NY, I played this song in a guerrilla showcase and several people have asked for it, so here it is.  It's a song about the Battle of The Atlantic during World War II.  Halifax is the capital of Nova Scotia and was a staging point for convoys heading to the UK with supplies.

Matushka is the nickname by which Russians referred to Catherine The Great.  It means "Little Mother" and it's one of my own personal favourite tracks on Eight Winds.

This is the unplugged version of Convoy - just Bob and a 12-string guitar.

We popped in to Otitis Media to mix a new track that had a bit of a ragtime feel to it, so we added a piano and a tuba just for fun.  Hope you like it.

We had fun with this one - It's a celtic influenced piece with a couple of guitars, bass, piano and percussion.

Is It Reel (Draft Mix)

This song is a bit of a remake of a piece from Wires Rosewood & Roots (Tea Rose).  When I wrote Tea Rose I wasn't in a very happy place and Hydrangea is the piece I probably would have written if I had been happy (and a better guitar player and composer than I was 15 years ago).  This is the second draft - the first one wasn't what I was after so I added a second guitar part along with Dave Findlay's piano and bass plus the Stratocaster in the bridge.

Bob Ardern combines masterful finger-style guitar playing with melodies that conjure vivid images and he pulls it all together into a captivating sound.   The music delights and excites while it soothes and entertains.  With influences from Celtic, Classical and Jazz,  Bob's guitar stylings take the listener on a spectral journey of emotions.  The music is excellent for listening with full concentration and also slips easily into the background, creating a very cheerful and light ambiance. It is music that makes you feel good whether it is full blast in the car or a gentle backdrop while you work or enjoy a meal.
