Beneath The Mask - From Persona 5 - Cover

Two years ago I watched Nana, fell in love with the series and its music.
Later that year I saw Animenz live in Sydney. Animenz is an AniPianist, someone who takes songs from anime and rearranges them to sound like classical piano. This reappropriation was what made 14 year old me fall in love with playing music, showing me that you can do more than what was merely written on sheets.

After that concert, I decided that I too could one day make a piano arrangement which would live up to the standard of Animenz. I started working on arranging "A Little Pain" from Nana. However, it was short lived. Soon after the concert I went through a rough patch, largely due to my own lack of awareness. Consequently, I dropped a lot of things, this project included.

This was when I wrote "Running"

It took months and months...But eventually, I started to feel a bit better, and decided to work on projects again. I believed that if I could continue making things, I would be able to at least feel a little proud of myself. Throughout last year, I tried to return back to "A Little Pain" a few times. But every time I did, I would ironically feel a little pain return.

After scrapping the whole project and starting from scratch at least three to four times, throughout all of last year and most of January, on the 16th of January I had finally finished my arrangement. On the 21st I finished transcribing sheets, and today on the 27th I am sharing it with the world.

Sorry for the essay of a description, I shared it because if this arrangement doesn't live up to Animenz on a technical, or musical level, hopefully it carries with it inspiration the same way Animenz's "My Dearest" inspired me so many years ago.

Lately, I've been trying to upgrade my audio game.
I started off with SingStar mics from ps2 xD
Then moved on to a $9 mic I bought from Kmart.
Now I'm using a decently good mic, the Behringer Ultravoice XM8500. As well as an Audio Interface :D

I've also moved away from Audacity and am now using Sonar LE.
So....Hopefully everything from late 2016 onwards sounds decent :P
As of Friday the 13th (lol) of April 2018, I installed Cakewalk by BandLab :D Idk how much difference that would make, but hopefully things might sound better :")
