Spring is in the air and this mix was inspired by the anticipation of festival season being just around the corner. This mix covers numerous genres with the thought of playing to a festival dance floor in mind. 

Jenn’s selections for this mix do not disappoint, they put you into an elated hyper state which we promise will get you excited for the magic in which festival season has in store for us. The Audio Social crew have been long-time fans of J.F.Killah, we have all thrown down at many of her sets and she played our favorite set of the summer last year at Shambhala. A fun fact about this selectress and producer is she grew up playing the piano and completed certification through the Royal Conservatory of Music. HOW COOL IS THAT?! Her being classically trained definitely translates into her mixes. Although Jenn is known to play dark and grime-y tunes, all of it is melodic, which blend flawlessly together. 

We have seen an evolution in J.F.Killah over the past few years. When she first started Djing she exclusively played Drum n Bass and Jungle, but her style has evolved to playing tons of genres. She credits this new evolution to being exposed to a wide variety of sounds while attending festivals and events and being inspired by other artists and producers. 

Jenn inspires us and we can’t wait to see what she brings to the festival scene this summer.

It's house! It's disco! And it's definitely funky! I wanted to record my Funk The Halls 2023 mix as everyone seemed to really enjoy it. It felt like a great showcase of the vibes that I tend to go for in a club setting, and my flow for how I set the mood. I'll be honest - I'm not your typical "wants a headliner slot to play bangers" DJ... I'm a mood provider... and I'm MORE than happy to be the first one on to get the night started right. This mix is a great party starter, something to clean your house to, or for some jams in the car! Hope you like it!

Funkhaus Disco Beats (May 2024)

Having grown up in North East Philly (Mayfair), summer block parties were always a thing. This mixtape is something I've been wanting to do ever since I learned how to Dj 10 years ago. It's a collection of my parents records and digital tunes that made me think of those block parties that I looked forward to with bittersweetness, when our block had our party, school was just around the corner. About time I posted up a new set.. this is what I played at the epic Living Prism New Years Eve event in Portland! This was my first time playing in Portland, and I was blown away by the thriving community and fantastic production of the Living Prism crew! Starting the year throwing down my favorite music for a packed house was unforgettable, and I’m very grateful to have been a part of it… thank you! Since I played right after midnight, this set is definitely one to put the dance floor in crush mode… enjoy! <3 Naughty Princess

For 9 years up until 2017 Turnstyle was playing and recording under the moniker "Bobby C Sound TV" when he decided to start tackling other genres of music and become a more studio-based project. 

It's not everyday a producer/DJ gets blogged by one of their favorite directors as is the case with Bobby C Sound TV who was recently blogged and called brilliant by Edgar Wright, director of such cult movies as Shaun Of The Dead, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World and Hot Fuzz. If that wasn't enough, Bobby also got a shout out by the Godfather of hip-hop, Afrika Bambaataa on a remix for Ft. Knox Recordings. Bobby C Sound TV is one Bobby Collins hailing from Denver, Colorado. He has been DJing for the past 16 years and producing music for the past 14. In early 2009 Bobby started messing around with a video DJ plug-in and soon after unveiled, "Bobby C Sound TV". His love of cinema was combined with his years of DJ experience to create a pastiche of pop-culture that is visually stimulating and danceable at the same time. His live mash up DJ approach was applied to create crowd rocking routines with some of the most memorable music videos, movie scenes and just about everything in between.

His approach to music and upbeat personality have helped him create a distinctive, signature sound that focuses on eclectic influences and bouncy basslines. He has had remixes and releases on 20+ different labels worldwide while jumping on multiple top 10 lists for Juno Download and Beatport. He has made the soundcloud weekly top 10 as well making their hottest tracks list for one of his fully original tracks, Neon Night Light. His Ray Charles remix made it to #4 on The Hype Machine's most popular list which was the third time he made their top 20 list. Along with his rigorous production schedule, the past 11 years have found Bobby traveling over 125,000 miles to plays shows and festivals in over 20 countries. His shows are a full audio/visual experience where he plays the videos to all his tracks live and in real time. He's undertaken multiple tours of Europe and Canada as well as playing major markets in the US.
