I have been writing a story for a long and in this story, I imagine a young man who found a hidden place in a desert after leaving his hometown. After walking on a lost highway road for some time he sees lights over the expanse. Being inquisitive about it, he heads towards them and that’s where he finds this place and so begins to live his life out there with these oddly nomadic suburbanites. I don’t know everything about what happens to him yet or why he’s there, but I feel like he might be losing his mind. I wrote these songs based on him, to try and capture that lost suburban town with its, green lawns, picket fences and clean streets. I hope you like them. 

We Go Far

I travel a little for work, sometimes to these far away towns where there isn’t to many people. I feel that it’s strange to be in places you don’t know alone and for me it makes my mind wander. Which isn’t something that I want to happen, so I decided that I wanted to use these places to develop songs and try make something good out of the loneliness of it all. 

The North Stations is a compilation of songs that I made trying to tell the story of where I was and what those towns where to me. So, I began carting my guitar, harmonicas and my recording equipment around with me to these stations and went from there. 

I can say that the conditions I made these songs or any of my music really has not been ideal for recording. Still its apart of what makes the songs connected to me and the outback of Australia. I hope you find enjoyment in them.
