People tend to say language is flawed. I disagree, we have created a language that crosses all boundaries; music. I believe that music is more than just rhythm, they are waves of sound that enter and manipulate our inner selves, so that we may connect with something other... 

This is a story, a cycle from a Blue Moon to a Red Moon. A cycle that I have become familiar with.

Blossoming Black Power: Madness is a deeper look into the delicate nature of the mind and the false safe-spaces we create to protect ourselves from mental and physical slavery. In a time where we are all constantly bombarded by fear, oppression, and hate, there needs to be a breaking of silence about how we have become so damaged individually, as a nation, and on a global scale. These ideas are expressed through the sacrifice of the physical body, interactions with metal and concrete sculpture, and sound.

"Cosmic Slop is a surreal mixed media performance by Bobby English Jr. that discusses questions relating to race, sexuality, war, religion, politics, poverty, city life, etc. and the media that keeps us "informed" on these issues. 

The aim is to raise awareness and show the effects that these problems have had on my life personally and to share the stories of my many friends, and strangers I've met. To take away the veil from over our eyes. To show people just how interconnected we all are. Not only to each other, but to animals, to the Earth, to all of existence... To prove that each of us is capable of doing great things, and together, we are unstoppable. 

It's not only a piece about justice, it's about love, and the beauty of the journey of life. Our diversity only strengthens us. Let's all learn to embrace it.

A segment of audio for a performance piece by the same name. "The Devil's Music" audio is built on raw energy, and emotion. Being comfortable is not a concern. It aims to create a deep inward experience in the listener, taking them on a kind of trip. The building up and breaking down of layers. The physicality and surreal nature of the performance will further disturb the audience member.
