This ninth outing is packing fire with regular TTW providers such as Paper Street Soul kicking things off with a slab of post-punk electronica on 'Notes On You'. Picotropico has been drinking the same kool aid with the Talking Heads-esque 'Inmovil feat. Sima Itayim'.
 
If low-slung-chuggy-psych-acid-house is your bag then we've got you covered by Dan Wainwright, Coy Dog and James Rod who each crank up the ALFOS-o-meter to 11. House with disco tendencies gets fully represented here by Define, Gina D, Processman, J Kara, Dastardly Bounder and Flying Mojito Brothers who all guarantee a session kicking up dust on the dance floor.

Oslo-based Boblebad returns to home label Beatservice with a new single from his upcoming album ‘Rund i Kantene’.

Boblebad's genre-defying back-catalogue includes gorgeously emotive Balearic soundscapes, brooding deep house grooves, adventurous journeys into electronica, deviant contemporary disco refinement, and all things between. It has come on this label in the form of last spring's 'Vill Falafel' and on Eskimo, Full Pupp, Paper Recordings and Aquavit Beat. The trombonist is also a painter and visual artist and teases his upcoming album in fine fashion here.

The askew chug of 'Kald Fisk' is impossibly enticing. It leads you down a path strewn with synthesised jazz sounds that heat you to your core with an odd lot of chopped-up vocal stabs and skittish drum work keeping you moving. The dynamic groove is full of deft detail and rhythmic surprises that will make an impact in any DJ set.

Now as he joins the badabing diskos family, he serves up a further selection of vibrant sounds.  'Dream On’ has bubbling bass with echoing and flirtatious vocals. It is a superbly stylish and hypnotic disco house affair with cosmic chords smeared in all directions as the catchy grooves and hip-swinging claps lock you in.  Label boss Vinny Villbass remixes the second original track, ‘Go to Sleep’, delivering a deep club diversion that is perfectly hypnotic. The original of 'Go To Sleep' then closes out the package, a brilliant electronic indie lullaby for late summer insomniacs. It has sumptuous chords and sunny acoustic guitar riffs that bring an intimate and artistic feel to this most roomy and luxurious song.  As always this is a colourful, cosmic and characterful package from badabing diskos.

Can anybody stop the march of The Wild Army? We hope not judging by these four gold-plated belters.

Neon Transmissions' Driving Me Crazy sounds like a lost Hacienda classic with its analogue warehouse bass, acid house piano touches and plaintive vocals. Its a main floor banger that will cause a collective rush.

On Ya Feet is heads down tracky tackle with skippy drums, driving keys and well placed samples. Its one of those records that will find its way in to every set as it always delivers.

Norway keeps on coming our way and Boblebad is a new addition to the roster. Superpus is one part techno, one part house and two parts wonk. Rubber bass, arps and all sorts of off kilter synths make it one for the left field.

Finally Whats The Funk? should have chug in the title as that's what it does. Its a builder, perfect for sunsets and sun rises as it hypnotises with delayed keys and percussion. Things are set off beautifully by strings straight out to the mid-90s. Absolute heaven.

In the spring of 2021, the 37-year-old talent arrived on Beatservice with his label debut – the utterly compelling deep house/meta-disco hybrid, 'Vill Falafel'. His powerfully individual music has also found a home on numerous other highly-respected imprints, including Eskimo, Full Pupp, Paper Recordings, and Aquavit Beat, among others. With a stubbornly eclectic sound signature, Boblebad's genre-defying back-catalogue includes gorgeously emotive Balearic soundscapes, brooding deep house grooves, adventurous journeys into electronica, deviant contemporary disco refinement, and all things between.

On top of his prowess as a studio technician and visual artist, he also plays trombone for a cultured Afrobeat band, as well as in a rousing, jazz-inspired big band. Indeed, his musical roots run incredibly deep, and as a youngster, Ulf cut his performance teeth while playing in a marching band alongside none other than Håkon Vinnogg – better known as the one and only Vinny Villbass.
