Up in the icy north, were the population is so small that the people that the musicians you really click with are bound to come from somewhere else musically, 3 musical brothers (Lárus, Patås, Kim Dürbeck) set out to create a platform for their creative outlet, a club-focused label devoid of genre-catering and specific-sound-tailoring , a label that clings solely to the spirit pf playfulness. 

To get things going theyve curated a digital-only V/A with a broad range of likeminded playful producers delivering anything from sunrisey trance-tracks, footworked jungle journeys, polyrhytmic breaks, to spa acid.

The badabing diskos crew digs deep once more and comes up with two downtempo indie-house monsters from label regulars Vinny Villbass and Sommerfeldt.

Producer, artist, sound guru and DJ Vinny Villbass hails from Oslo with releases on Eskimo and Trunkfunk. He has also worked with experimental electronic artist Pantha Du Prince and is a versatile performer and musician. Here he works with Sommerfeldt who has previously worked under various aliases on acclaimed labels such as Paper Recordings and Full Pupp. He is an equally prominent figure of the Oslo club circuit and both of these new tracks came together while eating basement fish (fermented trout that's been cooking in a bucket of brine in a basement for two months) in a wood cabin somewhere in the Norwegian mountains during the pandemic of 2021. Opener 'Back in Time' leans backward in both rhythm and harmony and creates plenty of space for its heavy claps and hypnotic vocal cuts. This alluring and artful groove is perfect for both sunlit beaches and dark clubs alike. As always with this label, it's a track that oozes musicianship and class. The equally fresh 'Basement Fish' goes even deeper but explores harder energies as disharmonic analog synth mayhem is held together by rhythmic vocals from the ever-amazing Toshybot who was once part of late 90s supergroup Tøyen. It's a rugged groove with tripped-out synth effects designed to bring all new vibes to the dance floor. Vinny Villbass & Sommerfeldt have hooked themselves a couple of beauties for this EP. As Frankie sang, 'and now, the end is near', which is certainly the case for our long standing Trash The Wax compilation series.

Over the years, it has released some absolute dance floor smashers by established names in the art of bangers as well as emerging music makers showcasing their fresh sounds.

Initially, we wanted to establish Trash The Wax outside of the 'kick-hat-snare stuck over a Sister Sledge sample' style edits that were dropping weekly. The result was a collection of cuts aimed at the dance floor which would also appeal to fans of electronic music. But all things come to an end, and with this 10th release, we are finishing on a high.

As expected there are disco ticklers aplenty from renowned party people such as Late Nite Tuff Guy, Ed Wizard, Bill Brewster, Pablo & Shoey, Danny Russell & Ronald Christoph and Yam Who.

Tracks such as Leon Sweet's Sunny Bigler made their way into the record boxes of the likes of Luke Unabomber, Maurice Fulton and Chris Duckenfield as well as the airwaves of 6Music. Deckard's rework of the theme from 'The Warriors' created scenes at ALFOS in Glasgow with Sean Johnston saying 'I've never seen as many shirtless middle age blokes go as mental as they did when that dropped!'

On a more twisted gutter style disco tip, there is Richard Seaborne's ' Is This Acid?' which topped the Paper best ever sellers on Beatport for months, Richard Norris's 'Glow' is textbook space disco, the low slung sludge of James Rod & Aleito's 'Raum 909' and the Speak & Spell narrated Acidisco by Andy Buchan.

There are also two brand new cuts from TTW family members Boblebad & D.S.D. plus more killer music than we can shake a disco stick at. Never has the phrase 'all hitters and no shitters' been more apt.

Boblebad, real name Ulf Moen Denneche, is an artist that has the essence of creativity coursing through his very being. An all-round production dynamo, the Oslo-based creator is equally adept at crafting immersive sonic textures as striking visual imagery, expertly functioning as an inspired musical producer as well as a painter and visual artist.

In the spring of 2021, the 37-year-old talent arrived on Beatservice with his label debut – the utterly compelling deep house/meta-disco hybrid, 'Vill Falafel'. His powerfully individual music has also found a home on numerous other highly-respected imprints, including Eskimo, Full Pupp, Paper Recordings, and Aquavit Beat, among others. With a stubbornly eclectic sound signature, Boblebad's genre-defying back-catalogue includes gorgeously emotive Balearic soundscapes, brooding deep house grooves, adventurous journeys into electronica, deviant contemporary disco refinement, and all things between.

On top of his prowess as a studio technician and visual artist, he also plays trombone for a cultured Afrobeat band, as well as in a rousing, jazz-inspired big band. Indeed, his musical roots run incredibly deep, and as a youngster, Ulf cut his performance teeth while playing in a marching band alongside none other than Håkon Vinnogg – better known as the one and only Vinny Villbass.
