Van Morrison ?  didn't know he produced this version.       For some reason, this is bringing up memories that I am unfamiliar with . . strange sensation.

apparently LULU was on freegin' guarana! wow she takes and launches it into the stratosphere! not often does an artist bring a well hewn piece of studio-produced music  far into the future and render it in a newly memorable way. on this night, in front of millions of U.S. tv watchers, LULU did just that.

This track is actually an "outtake" from my 2008 recording session for "At the very Moment" inside of the "Großer Rundfunksaal" at former recording facility "Funkhaus Nalepastraße Berlin" which was built in the late 50ties. As you can see on the picture, the hall is huge and to me it features one of the best natural reverbs in the world. Playing in such a fantastic room was very inspiring. We spent three days recording and shooting the video for my composition "Hope" which can be watched at my YouTube channel. It was filmed on 16mm film. True retro look. Please enjoy this soundcheck performance that has never made it into public yet. The photo also features the incredible artwork of Gregor Claudio Vykruta. The wonderful album booklet is featuring photos and lots of my thoughts about my music and the situations they emerged from.
The piano was a Yamaha CFX concert grand that we've placed not in the middle of the room but a bit to the side so that the sound of the beautiful room was exposed best. My dear grand- uncle Peter Burkowitz assisted me setting up the microphones. In his earlier days he was not only one of the busiest inventors of audio- technology, he also was a world class audio engineer. I had my private teacher for more than 30 years. He always used to say: All you need is ears (by Sir George Martin). He was right.
