I’ve been writing a song since I was 12 years old. I minored in music theory in college, without really knowing how to play an instrument. I did take one semester of piano and just worked out music theory on the piano at home in the summer. That was many decades ago.

Guitar makes no sense to me because it isn’t linear like the piano. So I use alternate tunings to help me work around that. The demos I post here are written on the guitar, because it forces me to work within limitations. And these demos are not finished products, they are just documenting what I was thinking, when I first wrote it and I’m playing the skeleton of drums, bass, and guitar for the guys in my band. Yes, I play keyboard in the band and not guitar.

So expect mistakes, mucked up timing, and vocals that could make a dog howl sometimes. It’s not about perfection. Hopefully you can hear the song inside the recording. Enjoy! ￼
