Sydney’ born and bred, Steve Marx has mastered his craft as a DJ over the last 25 years, moving to London in the mid 90’s, he was influenced by the huge brands of the time, such as Renaissance, Slinky, and Ministry of Sound.

He quickly became a trusted name alongside the greats such as Nick Warren, Sasha and Hernan Cattaneo, who till this day insist on him for support whenever they tour Australia.

Now co-managing and A&R for the onedotsixtwo label, with his cohorts Tripswitch and Gustin, he has become a renowned tastemaker of the progressive scene.

You pay attention when industry heavyweights like Sasha and Guy J name check an artist as a potential ‘one to watch'... and Khen is definitely worthy of that.

Through a consistent stream of high quality releases on labels like microCastle, Lost & Found, Sudbeat, Bedrock and Vivrant, the Tel Aviv-native has earned himself a rightful place as an equal in the the group of highly talented artists coming from his home country of Israel (Guy J, Mantzur, Shlomi Aber, Sahar Z). The fans have showed their support too, his ‘One Day of Independence’ debut LP on said Lost & Found went on to peak at number 1 on the Beatport top 100 progressive and overall releases charts. And his tour dairy is becoming increasingly busier, booking requests filtering in from all corners from the globe.

There is a lot to like about this podcast, from his own productions to tracks from artists like past Balance Selections compliers Stelios Vassiloudis, BOg and Guy Mantzur, all flawlessly presented in way that should win over a lot of listeners.

Deep funky melodic techno
In the early 1980s Bob became interested in disco and funk. At the time it was mainly broadcasted in the Soul Show by Ferry Maat on national radio. From the age of 16 Bob made remixes on Revox Tapedecks that were broadcasted in the Soul Show. After a season in Spain, Bob started in the Dutch club circuit with mostly progressive house in the early 90s. To create his own stage, he started the Joy Factory parties with 2 friends. These private parties grew to 1,500 partygoers. Bob performed at clubs, parties and festivals like Silly Symphonies, No One Modern Dance Parties, Extrema Outdoor, MTC and Doubledecker (Bratislava). Much of the music from that period can be found on his mix compilations called Tranceporter New Energy 1, 2 and 3. After a period in which he started his advertising agency, the adventure starts again. The same funk feeling of the 80s can still be found in the deep progressive and techno that Bob is playing now.
