Influenced by the animation of the same name ‘Orphans of the Sky’ originally aired on RTÉ2 in 1978 as a test screener before the channel was officially launched. Unfortunately not many people got to see (or even remember) it in its original form.  To this day nothing has survived from the original 13 minute animation but these 21 stills. 

This album came together with the intentions of trying to recreate the vibe and feel that I can remember hearing from the original score as a kid.

Five years on and I am still happy with some of the tracks (beat wise).

To celebrate this awesome little shooter getting great feedback and a massive reaction on Steam I have decided to upload a full preview of the soundtrack (a couple of more tracks may still be added tho) I had so much fun working on this as I got to create chip like tracks from my love of C64 / NES and Spectrum days mixed with techno glitchy beats. Story Of A Cube Full WIP Preview

Developing the music for DropCore I straight away had the idea of an ambient like style for the quieter strategic moments in the game and Drum n Bass elements for the more intense action (hence the Construct / Destruct theme)

Delighted to have gotten the chance to paint the audio landscape to this world, I had so much fun delving in plus it meant I could re-explore some of my favourite artists and albums for inspiration. Brian Eno, Moby, the Mass Effect and FTL soundtracks for the Construct theme and for the Destruct theme I went back and listened to the dnb classics from Sub Focus, Bad Company, DJ Fresh and Concord Dawn. I hope you enjoy.

DropCore OST Construct Preview

“Blasted Road Terror is real-time tactical looter in post apocalyptic setting. Command mighty warcrawler and manage squadron of vehicles in order to get unseen riches of the world and reach immortal glory.”
Super hyped to be working on this soundtrack, I had so much fun coming up with the music on Void Raiders before this that it was a no brainer when the guys approached me for latest gem of a project.
Tuning into the post-apocalyptic and dystopian setting soundtracks such as Mad Max: Fury Road / Death Race / Fallout 4 / Boderlands (and a sprinkle of NIN for good measure) have been all playing in the background. Attached is an exclusive preview of 8 selected tracks from what I have been cooking up and all still in a very work in progress manner.
