Björn Torwellen emerged from the dark electronic underground of the 90s and has been a steady force in Germany’s techno scene ever since. His sound is dense, hypnotic and dance floor–driven, yet always introspective. With performances at Nature One, Mayday, Nibirii and Ikarus, as well as international shows from Buenos Aires to Berlin, he continues to shape and contribute to techno culture. For him, techno is less about excess and more about detail, with long hours spent in the studio, organising events, and running his own label.
In 2018 he founded SINEE, now Germany’s leading e-learning platform for electronic music. Releases on Nachtstrom Schallplatten and his upcoming project 10 000 Black Seeds mark important milestones in his creative path, which is driven by analog gear, modular synthesis and a fascination for dark aesthetics. His music stands as a hypnotic soundtrack to constant self-development.

In this set, Torwellen delivers a ride through hypnotic, groovy and edgy sounds, recorded straight out of his studio. It captures the energy of his approach and offers a trip that is as immersive to listen to as it was for him to create.

BCCO Mix Series 669: Björn Torwellen

Zerotonin is a Berlin-based DJ and producer. He has been exploring electronic music for over five years – starting in production, and later falling deep into the art of DJing. What began as a hobby soon grew into a strong passion for techno – especially the groovy, raw and minimal side of it. His sets are built around rhythm and flow. For zerotonin, dance music is a physical experience – not just loud, but precise, hypnotic and made to move bodies.

Together with friends, he’s been organizing regular DIY parties in Berlin for over a year – a community-driven approach that reflects the spirit of BOCK Radio.

This mix is a snapshot of where he’s at right now – energetic, focused, and fully tuned into the floor.

Zerotonin ist DJ und Produzent aus Berlin. Seit über fünf Jahren beschäftigt er sich intensiv mit elektronischer Musik – erst im Studio, dann immer mehr am DJ-Pult. Was als Hobby begann, wurde mit wachsender Leidenschaft zu einer ernsthaften Verbindung mit dem, was Techno für ihn bedeutet: Groove, Rohheit, Struktur. Sein Sound bewegt sich zwischen minimalistischem, treibendem und raw Techno – immer mit dem Fokus auf Rhythmus, Bewegung und der richtigen Dynamik. Für zerotonin ist Clubmusik ein körperliches Erlebnis, das nicht laut, sondern klar sein muss.

Neben dem eigenen musikalischen Weg veranstaltet er seit über einem Jahr mit Freund:innen regelmäßig DIY-Partys in Berlin – ein Community-Ansatz, der perfekt zu BOCK Radio passt.

Dieses Set zeigt, was ihn derzeit bewegt – energetisch, fokussiert und mit Herz für den Floor.

BOCK Radio - 008 - Zerotonin

With over two decades behind the decks, Shlomi Aber is a key figure in underground electronic music. Known for his fast, three-deck mixing and distinctive sound, he has shaped modern techno with releases on respected labels like Klockworks, Blueprint, CLR, R&S, Figure, Cocoon, Ovum, and Drumcode, alongside his long-running imprint Be As One, a benchmark for quality techno worldwide.

Now based in Barcelona, his work has earned recognition across the industry, including DJ Mag’s Best Newcomer (2005), Producer and Track of the Year (2007), Beatport Artist of the Year (2008), and Best Techno DJ at the Sankeys Ibiza DJ Awards (2014 & 2015). 

In this set, Aber mixes 23 tracks across three decks and a loop machine over a little more than an hour. The journey moves from deep, raw techno to a more energetic pace that reflects his current focus, blending moods and textures he has been drawn to lately.

BCCO Mix Series 693: Shlomi Aber

NLI's music brings her dark, dystopian vision to life through gritty, moody, and rebellious sound design. Deeply introspective, each track tells a story drawn from her life — fragments of her past and present translated into sound. Known for her distinctive, fractured style, she’s carved out a space for herself by constantly pushing against the familiar and offering something raw and unexpected.

She also runs her own label, ADHESIVE, a platform that gives space to emerging artists who challenge boundaries and question the structures shaping modern techno. Every release reflects her belief that artists should be free to create exactly as they imagine.

This mix explores themes of societal collapse, global unrest, and cultural decay. Through elements of industrial, deconstructed club, and classic techno, it reflects the anxiety and fragility of our times. The set was inspired by a conversation with a friend whose teenage brother is struggling with depression and sees no future in a world he believes is on the brink.

BCCO Mix Series 698: THANILA

EL MAMU es el proyecto artístico de Mateo Muñoz como productor, DJ y artista en vivo. Nacido en Bogotá, Colombia, tras una carrera profesional como pianista clásico, encontró la manera de reconstruir su carrera artística a través de la producción musical. Su live act fue el ganador absoluto del Concurso Clandestino 2023 organizado por Techsound, y posteriormente compartió escenario con reconocidos artistas internacionales como Lady Starlight, Kr!z, Steve Bicknell, Lewis Fautzi, Alarico, DJ Pete, Truncate, Anne, entre otros.

El universo sonoro de EL MAMU, aunque orbitando ahora alrededor del techno de corte hipnótico, se caracteriza por la versatilidad de sus exploraciones, donde conviven lo bailable y enérgico de las clásicas cajas de ritmo con los rastreos sonoros en torno a lo minimalista, lo sci-fi, lo psicodélico, los ritmos rotos y lo aleatorio. Su música ha sido publicada en sellos de todo el mundo como Naked Lunch, trau-ma, PA5T1, CommonSense Records, Concepto Hipnótico, Hyperfocus, TNR Media, entre otros.

También es cofundador del colectivo bogotano No.ID (No.Identity Records), una comunidad cultural y sello dedicado a la distribución, promoción y producción de música electrónica. Desde No.ID se sitúa como latinoamericano en una búsqueda por distintos colores del techno, con una fuerte intención por crear también puentes musicales con otros géneros de la música electrónica, explorando asimismo espacios de formación colectiva para moldear proyectos individuales.

Alicea brings bouncy rhythms, dubby grooves and energetic selections full of surprises. Her sound moves fluidly between house, hypnotic techno and dub techno, always with a focus on groove and drive. With a precise and versatile style, she crafts sets that keep dancefloors moving.

Based in Germany, she’s performed at Tresor Berlin and clubs and festivals across the country, as well as internationally in the USA, Mexico and Tunisia. In Munich, she’s a resident at Club Rote Sonne and runs her own label, TELUR Records.

This mix reveals a softer side of her sound, blending house and techno with female vocals, emotional depth and dubby textures. It’s a warm and reflective set, shaped by tracks that moved her deeply this year – a nod to the feeling of summer, and the light it brings to darker times.
