Lower Saxony's best-kept secret, Heideton Records, returns with their most ambitious and comprehensive release to date, a double pack titled Green. Green taps into the rich history of European house and techno, from Panorama Bar to Bar25 royalty, while also championing a new era of producers and cult label favourites. On the first of two EPs scheduled for release this year, Green Part 1, Heideton has curated the finest club weaponry, from ‘tears on the floor’ deep house to sinewy and psychedelic techno. Although this may sound like it doesn't work together, the release is remarkably cohesive. This is thanks to the care and precision each producer brings, displaying an intimate knowledge of what works on both the dance floor and in your headphones on the walk home. We start with sunset hovering over the dancefloor thanks to the dripping percussion of Mexico City native, Bobby Cazanova. Everybody loves a good mystery. The second chapter of the Nowhere Series brings you to France, Kalamazoo, Arnhem and Den Haag. Four forgotten dance floor bangers by folks who clearly remember the first summer of love, back in 1988.

First up is a dark and twisted acid track by @laurent-garnier. Flashback stems from 1997, but has aged like a good single malt whiskey from France. You better believe it.

It Talks To Me is proper Detroit techno, with it's abstract stabs and moody strings. Except it's from Poland, where US-born @d-knox now resides since 2005 and where he has pumped out an amazing discography. You can't get any closer to early Transmat-energy than with this raw track from 1995.

On the flip it is over to Holland, for two forgotten gems. Inferno came out on vinyl, back in 1993. On the legendary label Gyrate. It's a full on acid affair, with a massive break. Made by Dutchies Frederik (of Pako & Frederik fame), Eric De Man & Heiko van Eindhoven. For this release still vinyl only.

Solartrek by @roland-klinkenberg was picked up by I-F in 1995 for his Top Secret label. The energetic and surprisingly bright track is now remastered and available on vinyl again & digital platforms for the very first time.

The primer of techno was barely dry or England already had its own variant of the genre: UK techno. Original Man by British producer Dave Angel is perhaps the perfect example of what that variant sounded like, back then. If only you knew where to find it. The single was released in 1993 on a record label that has long since ceased to exist.

Fortunately, Utrecht-based record label SoHaSo made this transverse techno-soul classic is available again, in a punchy remaster. With its juxtaposed rhythm programming and orchestral arrangements, Original Man still lives up to its title, even if it is 30 years later.

On the flip you'll find Quarter Pounder. With its nervous hi-hats and high paced rhythms, this seems like the perfect soundtrack for a highway chase between two roadhouses.

As a bonus, SoHaSo has supplemented the vinyl version of this EP with a rare Dave Angel track which also was released back in 1993 on French dance label FNAC. It's called 4th Symphony and ticks all the right techno boxes: strings, hihats and a melancholic melody.
